They'd like to propose a toast...

    https://www.esquire.com/food-drink/drinks/a29192122/portland-trail-blazers-wine-50-anniversary/

In early 2018, ESPN The Magazine blew wide open the sports story of the century: The highly skilled athletes who dribbled balls across the court every week were also low-key wine connoisseurs. The Cleveland Cavaliers bonded over day trips to Napa and wine-pairing dinners. LeBron James was an unstoppable glossary of wine-related knowledge. Steph Curry and Kevin Love swore by the Vivino wine app. Carmelo Anthony wanted to develop a somm's palate. Dwayne Wade even started his own wine label, D Wade Cellars.

A year later, the connection between wine and the NBA continues to deepen—and not just because D Wade Cellars now has a 2018 rosé. On Tuesday, the Portland Trail Blazers and Oregon's Adelshiem winery released two limited-edition bottles of wine together to commemorate the Trail Blazers' 50th season this year. There's a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir, both packaged in bottles with specially designed labels that are legitimately awesome (and especially great swag for Portland fans).......

I don't like Chardonnay, but the Pinot Noir will be worth a try.

If the foil is cut nicely at the top, then bottles re-filled with food colored water, these will look good for many years!!!

I hope they have some available at the arena. Got my bottles a few weeks back, and they are almost too gorgeous to pop.

Also, and more important, where is the 50th anniversary whiskey partnership?

Adelsheim Vineyard Celebrates 50 years Of Blazer Action!

NEWBERG, Ore. – Adelsheim Vineyard, one of the Willamette Valley’s founding wineries and the Chehalem Mountains’ first winery, has released a limited edition wine in partnership with the Portland Trail Blazers to celebrate the franchise’s 50-year anniversary

Since the 1970s, Adelsheim and the Portland Trail Blazers have been bold pioneers in the Pacific Northwest – each in their own right. Adelsheim is honored to bring a uniquely Oregon experience to Trail Blazers fans through two commemorative, limited edition wines. The wines will be officially released to the public today, Sept. 24.

“Making this wine was such an honor for our whole team,” said Gina Hennen, winemaker for Adelsheim. “As a Blazers fan, to be able to team up with the Blazers to create this special, limited edition wine to commemorate the team’s 50th anniversary has been a dream come true. I think fans will love it as much as we do.”

This unique partnership blends wine and athletics in a way that truly represents the integrated spirit of Oregon. When Adelsheim Vineyard and the Portland Trail Blazers first started discussing the partnership more than two years ago, it was clear that the organizations had a great deal in common.

“When we came up with the idea of a commemorative wine to share with our fans to celebrate our 50th anniversary, we looked no further than Adelsheim,” says McGowan. “Our shared commitment and passion for Oregon made them a perfect fit.”

The wine offerings will include a Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which were created especially for the fans to commemorate the rich 50-year history of their beloved team. Both are LIVE certified sustainable wines.

Designer Bethany Ng designed the label and is the same artist who participated in the 2017-2018 Gameday Poster Series. Each label includes special homage to the Blazers 50-year history, including images as iconic as the Coliseum, Moda Center and Rose Quarter. It also incorporates Trail Blazers jersey designs throughout the decades.

The wines are now available for purchase at adelsheim.com and by-the-glass at Local Cork in the Rose Quarter. Adelsheim will donate 10 percent of all commemorative wine sales to the Trail Blazers Foundation, which helps to positively impact the lives of underserved children and families in the local community.

    About Adelsheim Vineyard

Adelsheim, located in Newberg, Ore., was founded with an optimistic spirit and a lofty dream: to create world-class Pinot noir and Chardonnay in an undiscovered wine region, the Chehalem Mountains. Since 1971, we have obsessively pursued benchmark wines that celebrate the unique bounty of our estate vineyards — home to some of Oregon’s most diverse soil types, elevations, and exposures. As a founding winery of the Willamette Valley and Chehalem Mountains’ first winery, Adelsheim has played an instrumental role in nearly every aspect of the Oregon wine story. As leaders, we believe it is our duty to be voracious stewards of this abundant land and to rally our community in support of equity and education. Adelsheim is a LIVE certified sustainable winery, a 2017 Wine & Spirits Top 100 Winery, and the official wine sponsor of the Portland Trail Blazers. For more information, visit www.adelsheim.com.

    About the Portland Trail Blazers

Members of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Portland Trail Blazers were founded in 1970 and purchased by the late Paul G. Allen in 1988. The team’s rich heritage includes 34 playoff appearances, three trips to the NBA Finals, an NBA championship in 1977 and a commitment to community service and sustainability. The Trail Blazers are dedicated to positively impacting underserved kids and their families throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington where they live, learn and play. Portland is the first and only professional sports franchise to receive the prestigious National Points of Light Award for excellence in corporate and community service. The Trail Blazers home arena, the Moda Center, earned LEED Gold Recertification in 2015 after becoming the first existing professional sports venue in the world to receive LEED Gold status in 2010. The team is also one of the founding members of the Green Sports Alliance. For more information, visit www.trailblazers.com.
