I tried watching the one you guys put up there the other day. Didn't work for me. But i'm sure some will like it.
Topic I'd like to hear a podcast about would be loyalty...from team to staff to ownership to community...why we're so lucky to have guys who represent Portland who actually mean it and love the city, state and community......why a guy like former Blazer player Ed Davis just comes home in Portland and fits. Why a guy like Terry Porter or Steve Blake raise families here are invested here. CJ talks about it at length in interviews and on his Pull up podcast....we're a rare NBA franchise for a small market. Advice for the last podcast you guys put up.....get to the content faster and get a little more engaged with each other
No the content of your video. I made it through about 15 minutes. It didn't keep me engaged. But i hope you guys find a good following. Good luck.
We can't ask him over the internet because he'll just go look but I guarantee if you asked him in person right now he wouldn't be able to tell us what we discussed in the first 15 minutes. What's funny is part of that we were discussing the 3 on 3 tourney and he was there and a part of the experience.
Yup. Straight bashed it from the start (or maybe not "it", but a hypothetical version thats exactly like it). Bashed it based on his vast YouTube knowledge (yeah, right). I dont mind if someone genuinely dislikes it. But man, dont start bashing before giving it a chance. Some guys act cordial but still cant hide their grudges.
Yup. You think after all those negative things he said, thatd he'd say something neutral or positive? I don't know man. I have a hard time seeing that someone who implied that everything I'm doing will be a failure actually wants to see us succeed.
So, I mean no disrespect to you either of you guys I thought overall you did a good job. I had a few critiques though. I think the "intro" dragged on too long, ~ I assume that is just because it was your first time. My Recommendation is, Break the intro off of that episode and make that just your "Introducing ourselves" video. Then make Episode two the rest of that episode. It picked up and got better after that. My other "critique" is maybe have some tool to help you guys keep track of time, and "scheduling" it, I'm almost done with the second episode right now and it some of these really go for a while. I'm enjoying it. I think eventually these are going to be about a half-hour each?
We'll never take constructive criticism like this as disrespectful. I agree with you that the intro was a little lengthy. We've gotten mixed feedback on this though. A lot of people want to us to talk more about us because that's how connections with the audience happens. Some people don't care to hear anything but Blazers talk and that's fine too. We just gotta balance that better. The first episode I think did need some background on us. The trade episode was always going to be super long. Seriously it's all people want to talk about when we get questions or comments. When we settle in to normal episodes we hope to have them be about an hour. Being timely is important and we realize we need to be better with this but we also don't want to just cut a discussion off that's flowing freely because we reached an arbitrary time limit. Since it's online we don't really have to adhere to a strict time limit. This is something that will get better with experience. Thanks for the feedback!
You didn't just describe the tourney. You also talked about your high school experience. Bones went into his college and if i remember he said something about his free throw shooting with like 22 straight to match the 7 or 8 he hit in the tourney. Looked like you were in a bedroom with Blazer jerseys behind you. No i didn't have to look kit up. I really did watch it for the first 10 to 15 mins. But think what you like. Not sure why i'm the target here? All i said was it isn't for me and that i wish you guys luck?
You need to get over this if you're going to do a public podcast and ask for feedback.....People started threads about Dame's music and I listened but didn't like it....and that's ok. I think you guys will figure it out...I'm happy to give some tips as a listener but not if y'all get defensive about it. ..you need to learn to manage this end of the biz....hosting is a skill and sometimes you get heckled.....the great podcasters deal with it with humor..there are going to be people who don't like your schtick....if someone wishes you well but doesn't dig your product...it's ok. Thank them for wishing you well at least.
Riverman, I really respect your opinion but you're coming in at the end of an argument here without knowing the full context.
