That is a really cool graph. Thanks for that. The Sabas and Roy trajectories are super depressing though.

    I never hated Cheeks.
We haven't had a coach as good since.

What is the scale on the left?

I would not rate Wicks as leading anything.

I included any player that led the Blazers in PER for at least one season, and played for the Blazers for at least 4 years.

I don't think Cheeks was a good coach, I think he was a great person though. He's probably a good assistant too.

Yes to both the later two. But you are right, he was not really a good coach, just better than we have suffered since.
You need to go way back to Adelman to find good, and Dr. Jack to find great.

    Thanks.

Wick should be known for leading asshole though. I don't think that belongs on your chart.

Wicks was even an ass to his teammates. I think it was Bob Gross that called out to him in practice, hey Wicks! I don't know what the communications was to be, but Wicks responded, You can call me Sidney, or you can call me Mr. Wicks. Then walked away.

It left most of his teammates dumbfounded.

I took my Pop Warner football team to a Blazer game after we finished the FB season. 10 year olds, and Wicks was the man of the day. They wanted his autograph, two of the boy approach the Blazer Bench at half time with Wick standing near by.
They called out, Hey Wicks! I cringed, just by seeing the look he mustered up. The boys got the same damn treatment, he proceeded out to jack up some of his long shots. The next year we did a little better, we got Walton to come to their practice, it was real close to the new house he had built. He drove onto the field, driving his B210 from the back seat. Front seat removed. Damn! it was quite a sight.
