Are people forgetting the Nets won nearly 50 games with a healthy Krstic 2 years back? And Krstic has gotten better since then. Who knows how well they would've done had he played the entire season healthy. Only player I'd considering giving up is RJ. I think he's hit his ceiling for talent. Plus, he's been injured a lot in the last couple of years. Specially the playoffs. They could afford to ship him out.
Im hoping the Nets don't do this, they would be better off by keeping what they already have now, insteed of getting rid of a talanted Krstic and a Richard Jefferson they could keep them and build around what they all ready have and make a playoff push without a trade for JO I just see that this would be the better route for them at the moment, this also dosen't help the pacers a whole lot, I personaly think there not going to start winning if the trade went down, there whole team just looks messed up from my view, they need to get rid of mike dunleavy & troy murphy, they can't defend for sh*t.
NJ shouldn't do it, plain and simple. You give up a bright, young center in Nenad Krstic who is still improving on his game. RJ's a nice complimentary player who can score and rebound, but you want to look to trade him without involving Krstic in THAT trade. Maybe something like:NJ gives up:Richard JeffersonJosh BooneFuture 1st round pickPhoenix gives up:Shawn Marion<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Due to New Jersey and Phoenix being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New Jersey and Phoenix had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.</div>It works on RealGM's trade checker.

His basketball IQ is very low. Everytime I watch Diogu play he's making stupid mistake after stupid mistake for the Pacers. This doesn't mean he can't potentially be a good role-player in this league but Indiana shouldn't mind hindering his developement. He's very raw at this point. Danny Granger should start at the 4, bring Diogu off the bench.

I agree Krstic is a very good player, but he doesn't offer any rebounding, not a good defensive player, and while he has blossomed into a nice scorer, the Nets need a more physically imposing and consistent big man.I agree, RJ is the one I want to see leave. I'd rather give him up because he is a more valuable trading chip with a bigger contract.

Sometimes he gets a little clumsy and makes mistakes but that's to be expected from a raw young strong power forward. Ike is an absolute beast, he can start right now and produce. Granger can play the 4 but you do not want him down low too much because he is relatively weak and undersized compared to most PFs. Plus Granger is much more of a perimeter player.Oh yeah: Larry Bird completely shot down this trade idea
After signing free agent Jamaal Magloire, the New Jersey Nets could still add another big man through a trade. Though talks with the Indiana Pacers regarding a trade involving Jermaine O'Neal and Richard Jefferson stalled on draft night, that deal may not be dead yet. New Jersey Nets should offer:Jamaal Magloire and Richard Jefferson for the Indiana Pacers Jermaine O'Neal.Nenad is ability to spread the field for a big man will cause defense to breakdown and open space for the cutting ability of Carter, Kidd, Williams (Both) and post plays by Boone and O'Neal. The Indiana Pacer would gain a quality Big man and a very versatile SF in Richard Jefferson.

The Pacers are stacked at SF, they have no need for Jefferson, and Magloire is just a backup center at this point in his career, he's very flawed. He's no better than Jeff Foster.
Now that the Nets have Magloire, I would be a lot more comofrtable trading both RJ and Krstic for JO. While I feel trading BOTH RJ and Krstic is a bit of a ripoff, now that the Nets have a capable center playing down low, it would make a lot more sense. A lineup of Kidd/Carter/Nachbar/JO/Magloire with Williams, House, Wright, Collins and Williams/Boone coming off the bench is a very, very nice roster. Much better than what the Nets currently have. Aside from the great offense JO brings, he'd also bring MUCH needed rebounding and shot blocking presence down low. Magloire will be a better option to mooch off Kidd/Carter/JO than Collins will be, and he is a big body who can rebound and stand his own against some of the East's other big centers (namely Shaq and Curry). The perimeter trio of Kidd/Carter/Nachbar makes a lot more sense than Kidd/Carter/RJ as well. With Kidd and Carter getting older and older, this is the last chance for them to make a serious push at not just an EC title, but an NBA title.RJ and Krstic are still young and improving, and Indiana is going into rebuilding mode anyway. Getting rid of JO and his contract would really help out Indiana and their rebuilding cause. As seen with JRich, a guy like RJ can easily be traded for young talent on other teams if Indiana doesn't want him, and Krstic is very young and has shown a lot of upside thus far (aka a keeper for Indiana). I don't think Indiana will get any better deals than what NJ is offering, and getting rid of JO now would quicken the rebuilding process. If this trade is still there, I think both teams would be crazy not to pull the trigger.
Trading both of them is simply giving up too much for JO. They'd be better off sticking with what they have. Kristic is a very good big man that can score and rebound. Magloire gives them the toughness Kristic lacks. The Nets look excellent and should take the Atlantic barring a serious injury. Their bench still seems weak but maybe somebody will step up and contribute. I think they get worse overall if they trade for JO.

Jefferson is younger and cheaper and comes with less baggage. Him and Krstic makes the most sense for JO. You don't trade your star player for another team's star player. It doesn't work like that. It defeats the purpose.

Jefferson is a lower-tier star, but still has some untapped potential. Plus he isn't NJ's best player. They could go without him.
