As always, great event. It has to be tough following two legends and I was curious what his strategy is. My takeaway from the event is that Travis does not plan on filling his broadcasts with a bunch of forced catch phrases. He did ask for suggestions.

One idea that came up was for a fan to submit something, via twitter or another platform, that he has to say during the game. I cannot remember if it was "Show us your Blazer" that Chad Doing is wanting read but he has a standing offer to break dance for it.

To eliminate the S2 obvious, I would love to hear Travis work "Mrs. HCP" into a game.

Could easily give us a subtle head-nod after a win with a line like "...Rip City too much for the visiting Nuggets tonight..."

Wouldn't be out of context for anyone else, but would be easily recognizable for us.

I'm betting most of the people who "deny" him actually weren't either alive when he was the PbP guy, or didn't become fans until about 20 years ago.

On a crafty Hezonja pass I’d love for Travis to say something like “that pass was slicker than deer guts on a brass door knob.” That would certainly make for a “signature phrase”.......

All the Mario plays should be turned into video game references to Super Mario. Mario gets blocked, “He went into Bowsers castle and got denied”, he makes a great pass, “Mario’s letting Luigi do it this time with!” Also can work in some Princess Peach and Peach Basket puns.

Wheels cannot be duplicated...he's an original..they broke the mold when he was born but Travis has good timing....I think he should listen back to some Steve Snapper Jones clips...that's where his talents could focus. I'm just happy he has a comfort zone with Michael Holton.....as good as Wheels was, he had no chemistry with Tone at all....Wheels had all this passion for the game and Tone was like a terrible standup comic trying to get the yuck yuck jokes that always fell flat. Holton is turning into a great color commentator. As a radio guy, I'm pleasantly surprised with the preparation they bring to the games so far. I don't think Travis needs any catch phrases...just call the game...a great catch phrase should come naturally, not be concocted to mirror the great Brian Wheeler....let the game come to you

A little too graphic for the children and women folk not to mention the guys who've led a softie life.

I suppose it would be more classy if the phrase was, “slicker than snot on a glass table top”..........??

That sounds like something I would have said between the ages of 10 and 17. I would have laughed after saying that the way Beavis and Butthead do.
Can't do that now. My wife wouldn't fix me dinner for a week.
