Everyone making a huge deal over the Zach Randolph trade....all they did was nab pretty much a clone of Eddy Curry, who can't defend, block shots, pass...etc...Now they have Randolph's longer contract...these two should be called "The Black Hole Duo". And the Knicks will still go nowhere. Mediocrity lives on in NY. I feel bad for David Lee.
word on the radio is that the blazers might buy out francis' contract and pursue rashard lewis or something.

If there is one thing that seperates him from Curry, it's rebounding. Knicks needed both of those things, and also needed to get rid of Francis. I really like this trade, and I think it could very well push them to the playoffs.

If you dont think he's going to make an impact, youre crazy...It just means that now they have two great post threats along with a lot of talented perimiter players. They're going to be a good team.
I think its a excellent pickup, and they got rid of a even worse Steve Francis contract, get Curry outve there, start David Lee and you got a very good frontcourt...
this is a no lose situation for the knicks. there is no way they dont do this deal, they give up almost nothing and pick up a 20 10 player, how is that dumb? And it is a big deal, with everything bad thats happened to them its nice for them to have something good happen.

Eddy Curry is an amazing post scorer, but that is it. He brings nothing else to the table. Randolph has more range and versatility, can hit free throws, and averages double digit rebounds. The Knicks still have very little perimeter shooting and defense though. So there are still many wholes to address.

Knicks just brought in another chemistry-downer player to lower the Knicks low chemistry already. Talent wise it was a good move by Thomas, but his attitude isn't the kind the Knicks need. I hope it works though.
Channing Frye was a softie, wasn't a good post defender, wasn't a great rebounder and all he had was a jumpshot. Bust IMO. Steve Francis was a load of crap to be honest, and with that contract didnt do sh*t.We basically got Randolph and some bench players for nothing. I <3 the deal.

Their cap situation is meaningless right now.
I'm still a little on the fence with this deal, I can't think about if it's a good deal for the knicks or not. On one hand it does bring in another excellent scorer in the post, and a very good rebounder. They also really didn't give up much to get Randolph either. On another hand it takes away from their toughest low post player in David Lee, who is a fighter and tough as nails. It also has two big men that have similar low post games, that won't really be able to feed off of each other in my opinion. Both turn the ball over at a high rate in the post, and both are known to be lasy quite often, especially defensively. If I was them, I would bring Curry off the bench and start Randolph and Lee, but that's just me.
I cant Believe the people who called knicks idiots~~Every time the knicks get a player thats wat some people say. Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph is going to be very good team just like that. Then they have crawford(who im glad they didnt trade), Stephon, qrich. And then dont feel bad for David Lee because, last year he was a bench booster and this yar he will be a bigger bench booster. He plays better coming off the bench anyway, with the second squad.

He played for a long time with the starters out there with him, even when he started on the bench. He was not just a second squad player that only played with the second squad. With Randolph there now, who plays the same position as Lee, it will unquestionably take away from David Lee's playing like he did this past season. It also has another quality rebounder out there, taking away from Lee's rebounding, which he does best.As for Curry and Randolph, it is going to be very hard for them to work well together, and I don't see them being able to play with each other. They both don't like to play defense, they both don't like to pass the ball once they get the ball offensively, and they both turn the ball over. They both need the ball to be effective, rather than being able to get open without the ball, so it hurts the team with having two of the same low post options out there together. The turnovers may even be worse, Randolph and him both turned the ball over more than 3 times per game this past year. There were many games where they had more turnovers than rebounds, especially Eddy Curry. You can't have your starting front court averaging 6 or more turnovers per game together and expect to win in the NBA, which could very well happen this next season. These two will not work well together, and I really don't see them being a good team. One will need to he traded(Curry more than likely) for this to work.
This trade works just for the fact that they got rid of Steve Francis' contract..... stupid Knicks are at finally trying to do something positive

And who cares if Randolph is going to get the rebound and Lee isnt. the knicks still got the rebound, David Lee will still get 10 rebounds per game just watch.. And I know much more about my team than u do.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I think its a excellent pickup, and they got rid of a even worse Steve Francis contract, get Curry outve there, start David Lee and you got a very good frontcourt...</div>I'm pretty sure Randolph's contract is worse. Francis really has one year, considering his last year is an option(whether or not Francis uses it). Through some possible negotiation, they might come to an agreement on a reasonable buyout. But I don't see how his is worse(2 year for 31 million to a 4 year deal of 61 million). Randolph has a worst contract imo.
well just dont expect the ball to come out the paint once curry or zac gets it . they wont pass it back. Zac plays ALOTTTT harder then curry.... but when it comes to defending I think you will still see them just standing there....knicks need to learn to stop going after ballhogs..im sure david lee is on his way out being now his min will be taken
