The only way DAVID LEE IS OUT IS IF WE GET KOBEI knoq u guys are saying bad stuff becuz its the player..you just haate evryone the knicks get
no . I like david lee... but getting zac I dont think was the answer. scoring wise you guys might be sick down there... but thats about it
Just a note on david lee.. He's plays hard and very good wether he is coming off the bench or starting.| IF the knicks stay healthy, don't be suprised how good they play this upcoming season.| Also it depends on what the knicks managing staff do the rest of this offseason to improve or stupidly downgrade the Knicks, to fully decide if they will be better or worse next season.| From what I see after this draft, the knicks have done well because they did not need Francis and his contract at all and got rid of Soggy Frye.| They added a big guy who could drop 30 on a team as well as grab many boards.| What they are lacking right now is a decent passer like Marbury off the bench.| And marbury is quite selfish for a good passer.| They should chase ridnour from what I think or at least someone who has good courtvision.| Marbury will not always be in there day in and day out.| The knicks are always full of suprises, so u just never know.|I hope they can find chemistry on either the offensive side or on the defensive side.| These past few years they have just been average on both.| If they get that offensive chemistry with 4 players that can average over 18 ppg each -Randolph Crawford, marbury, Curry- they would be dangerous.| The doubt is however, knowing their current personalities, VERY HIGH.|
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (valo35 @ Jun 29 2007, 07:22 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I'm still a little on the fence with this deal, I can't think about if it's a good deal for the knicks or not. On one hand it does bring in another excellent scorer in the post, and a very good rebounder. They also really didn't give up much to get Randolph either. On another hand it takes away from their toughest low post player in David Lee, who is a fighter and tough as nails. It also has two big men that have similar low post games, that won't really be able to feed off of each other in my opinion. Both turn the ball over at a high rate in the post, and both are known to be lasy quite often, especially defensively. If I was them, I would bring Curry off the bench and start Randolph and Lee, but that's just me.</div>David lee wasn't even starting when Frye was in at PF for the Knicks. He is much better at giving energy off the bench. When Curry goes out, push Randolph to center and Lee at PF. I don't see it being much of a problem. And I disagree with them having similar post games. Curry doesn't have a post game; he is a big blob who usually gets deep enough to score. Randolph is much, much more versatile and refined, and is a go-to guy as a scorer. If you bring Curry off the bench, especially since he probably considers last year a breakout year, he'll have a fit.As I said, I like this trade. Gives the KNicks what they really needed- A go-to scorer and rebounder. Yes, Randolph is lazy defensively, but I'd rather have him down low than Frye, offensively AND defensively. Letting go of Francis also gets rid of that burdon. He really seemed to effect Marbury in a negative way, so hopefully that works out as well.
If your a knicks fan this is a big move. Talk all the sh*t you want about Zach Randolph but hes still a 20/10 Big man. I think he's been underrated to this point in his career and will have a great showing in NY. The guy is an incredible rebounder and brings alot of offense to the table. NY was close to the playoffs this year and they lose a huge contract which will be the steps in the Knicks saving their cap(someday) For now they look like a decent team.

In any event, I did say earlier that I would rather have Randolph at center and Lee at the 4 if I was the Knicks. As for Curry not having a post game, that is not true at all. While he does use most of his game around getting close enough to post up, that is what most players in the league work around. Curry showed great footwork this past season, especially on his drop step, and proved to be alot better not being so overweight. Randolph was the same way, has good footwork especially on his drop step, and is able to score in the post but he needs position to do that first also. Neither of them are overly refined in their offensive move set though, especially at keeping the ball with their hands, which is why they both average such high turnover rates for big men.

It was either Jeffries, Jerome James, and then Frye will start mayb 20 games. Frye didnt start because we weren't deep at the Center spot. If we started Frye when Curry gets tired Frye will be kind of tired too so it was hard situation. Jeffries started to solve that problem and bring Frye off the bench. James I don t know why we started him when we had Malik Rose he was playing great towards the end of the season. I like this move alot since we are in the East there is not many big men to worry about. We have to worry about Shaq, Jefferson, Bosh, Okafor, Kristic. That is not that much competition since Shaq and Okafor are usually injury prone. Kristic plays soft every other night. So our threats are Bosh and Jefferson. Curry did OK by himself this year but now since we have Randoplh it will be harder to defend.Frye was average player and was MUCH more better his rookie year but the injury kind of slowed him down. Francis was worthless he gets injured and took minutes from Nate Dogg who I think is a great spark off the bench and good shooter. Overall good trade we also got some bench players.
BREWCITYBUCK, I just remmembered, u shouldnt be talkin saying how the knicks are so dumb. WHAT ABOUT your BUCKS. They pick a center even they have bogut and knowing he may not show up to play this year..And so far most peeps on this site is provin u wrong dude.
I think the Knicks might set a world record for the most 3-second violations in a season next year.but seriously, no way in hell will zach randolph and eddy curry be able to work well with eachother. They're both slow, low-post players. They will definitely clog up the lane. And stephon marbury, well, can't shoot, so they're also clogging the lane for him. So then you have Qrich, who is just a chucker, a lazy player on both ends, you ahve nate robinson starting fights in the locker room. This team had two players worth anything in my eyes, and they traded one of them away in Channing Frye. The other is David Lee.

And the Knicks will still go nowhere. Mediocrity lives on in NY. I feel bad for David Lee.</div>Agreed.On every forum I've been on, Knicks fans think they are the sh*t now, and are a playoff lock. Randolph plays terrible defense, and the city of New York could be a plague to him.
NYK IS THE sh*t, they were last year also. they would've made the playoffs and at least went in the second round im tellin u. If we didnt have Jamal crawford David Lee and more injuries we wouldve killed... and so far in this topic its not just knicks fans who are sayin this was great bitcchhh lol
LMAO Knicks are gonna have horrible defense. Starbury, Curry, and Randolph all are gonna want a bunch of shots......how are they all gonna stay happy?
Channing Frye and Francis didnt help there defense that much. Curry worked on his defense ova this summa. AND QRICH IS A AMAZING DEFENDER

As seen in Slam, he thinks he is the most dominant big in the East. You can't put him on the bench. Lee is a very good player, but he is more suited to come off the bench and give 20-25 minutes a night. This trade will hinder his progress slightly, but in any event he will never be more than a role player.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>As for Curry not having a post game, that is not true at all. He is surprisingly light on his feet for someone his size, but he is not dominant like Shaq. This is a problem since he has absolutely no range, only scoring on very close shots. This isn't a problem against many Eastern Conference teams, but if the Knicks make the playoffs they will need a much better 1st scoring option as he will have trouble with big men who won't get pushed around. Randolph has a nice midrange jumper, and IMO more refined post game. Therefor he is much more suited to carry this team due to his versatility and better scoring ability.
