HRT as described in the article can not be prescribed to children. Instead, at the age of 10 or 11, children who wish to transition are given puberty blockers, and only at the age of 12 or 13 are they allowed to take hormones.

The studies focusing on the health risks of HRT were conducted on post-menopausal women, who were already at high risk for hair loss and blood clots. Transgender women do see a slightly elevated risk of both but even then do not reach the average risk that cis women have for each.

Well, he's wrong. One of the nicest people I know and is a regular ambulance driver for a company that takes me back and forth to the hospital three times a week is a transsexual.
