I think we're going to struggle early in the season, especially against really good teams, because of our reliance on our young guys off the bench. HOWEVER, I think this is going to pay off down the road. I think as Ant, Skal, and Mario grow and become comfortable with their roles, this team will hit its stride around the All-Star break and we will be unstoppable. There are going to be growing pains. Ant will have a night like last night, and then a night like the one against Denver. But the end result will be worth it. I see so much potential in those three guys (and really Zach as well. Can't forget how young he still is.) Sometimes you just have to toss the kids out of the nest and see if they fly.
I dont know if that sac game was Simons getting his bearings a bit or if he has something against the Kings but that kind of scoring punch off the bench for them is going to be LEGIT.
Ant is the future. Nas should play over Tolliver, let him make his mistakes, rather he make mistakes than Tolliver.
That was Ant being Ant and truly doing something in an NBA game when it fucking mattered. That was a massive game for him, IMO. It's exactly what I needed to see from him in the role he now has and he showed it in game 2. The premise of Nate's post is spot on. We will take lumps but the future benefits (this season) are massive.
Different body type, but his game reminds me a bunch of Monta Ellis when he was at Golden State. Great kid by the way.
He reminds me of early Devin Booker. He's a naturally gifted scorer from pretty much anywhere on the court, but needs to become a better playmaker for others, and become at least an average defender. Book is more seasoned now and is much better at creating for others than when he first entered the league, but his defense is still Hardenesque.
