Funny you should say that, yesterday instead of the usually really good natured medical staff that I ran into, I got some crotchety people which put me in a crotchety mood. I didn't get into a better mood until about a half an hour after I left the hospital about 5 1/2 hours later. Just seeing and talking to my wife puts me in a good mood. She has magic powers.

I've had a shunt (fistula) for about four years. It was opening up a shunt that was slowing growing smaller affecting my trans sonic readings but not my instantaneous flow rates which have measured good. Trans sonic readings measure a long term average flow rate. Before that, I had a series of catheters in my chest and neck. One of my chest catheters got infected about 3 or 4 years ago and I wound up in intensive care for about three weeks. Was out of it for about two weeks. Nearly died. That's the first of two trips to intensive care. The second was serious but not nearly as serious as the first trip to ICU.

They should do a remake of the 6 million dollar man starring lanny. Heck, i have only had 2 surgeries in my life. First my tonsils in the 8th grade and detached retina surgery about 5 years ago.

Glad to hear it went well buddy.

My Dad is up to 48 major surgeries. Some of these guys are freaking troopers (LITERALLY in Lanny's case), much respect.

Overall he's actually pretty good, he runs about 20 miles a week and works out quite a bit. He was just born with a lot of issues. The last open heart surgery he had, he was back running 3 months later. Thanks for asking!

Before my recent spate I had only one surgery for repair of my cartilage in my right knee and before that nothing. I can only blame agent orange which was illegal to use in the United States at the time it was used in Vietnam. Okay, I've no bone to pick about being injured in combat but it really pisses me off to think that they condemned me to a life of living hell when they knew what it would do. I'm convinced that somebody put thousands of Vets through hell just to line their pockets with enough for a couple more vacation homes. I hope they choke on their steak dinners.

And then what? I've already been doing it for 4 1/2 years. Have I only got 2 1/2 years to go?

I feel for you, dad, and the rest of the veterans having health problems because of that shit. I also feel for the Vietnamese people having that shit sprayed all of their country and dealing with the health ramifications because of it.

    Are you Norwegian?
My mother in law is full blooded 96 years old has a IPhone and will text up a storm.
She was riding my bike a couple years ago tougher than nails. She was that welder lady at the shipyards. She keeps telling me it’s that Norwegian blood in her that’s keeps her going even after numerous episodes where we thought we may lose her.

No, but I had an uncle by marriage who was of Swedish descent. He did love his lutfisk.
I worked with a bunch of factory mechanics who were of Norwegian descent building jumbo jets for Boeing who used to often say "uff da".
