Re: Nick Young & Dominic McGuire What do you guys think about our draftees? I was amazed that Young got past New Orleans, and McGuire seems like a high quality pick at 47. Both of them could make an impact next year and I can't wait to seem them play in the Summer League games.
Re: Nick Young & Dominic McGuire When Philly took Thad Young, I smiled. When Julius Wright went to NO, I knew Nick Young would be a Wizard. I was starting to think he wouldn't make it to 16 the last few days. Young vies the team a scoring punch and bounce off the bench. McGuire was described as a Kirilenko type. I wouldn't mind that at all. he's a big time rebounder and shot blocker. Its much easier to hide a guy like him on the court with Gilbert et al. I'm sure he'll get a lot of time right away, but he brings skills that not many other Wizards possess. Have to admit I prefered Herbert Hill at that spot. He could play some backup Center, block shots and rebound too. But it makes sense that if we are going to add a Big it will be a veteran. Wizards blog noted that McGuire was 5th in the nation in blocked shots, unselfish passer... we need some of those too.
Re: Nick Young & Dominic McGuire You guys had an outstanding draft. Young will be a big time scorer in the NBA, and you guys have 3 great wing players in Butler, Arenas, and Young.. McGuire will provide alot of versatility and he's a good defender, I hope he gets time because he can play. Wizards just need an inside presence and they'll be a great team. Jamison probably needs to be dealt..

The closest we've ever gotten was a very small Shawn Marion rumor 2 weeks ago. I was very happy with Nick Young. Zards knows that I have been pulling for this guy since the NCAA tournament. He'll be an aggresive scorer who will potentially start over DeShawn Stevenson. His 7 foot wing-span will also add a perimiter defender on the floor. Dominic McGuire took my by surprise, however it was a pleasent surprise. He's an amazing Kirlienkio type defender. He may be sort of skinny at this point but by the time he bulks up, McGuire could be a good defender in this league. I'm very excited to see what we get out of him. Also, I'm excited for some more dunks next season.

Re: Nick Young & Dominic McGuire Press: Who do you plan to pattern your game after? Nick Young: I'm not really sure, maybe Penny Hardaway (Massive laughter) --- Ernie and Nick pretty much said all the right things. He will be a great addition to the bench along with D-mac. The press conference did get a little bit repetetive at points.
