Herbert Hill/Foward/ProvidenceHmmmmMMmmmMmmWhat do our Sixer fans think of this?I can tell you im pretty happy about the drafting of Young & Byars but I have my problems with drafting a guy from the Ukraine IMO we should of got a guard we could probley use this comming season but I guess that won't be happening now, Jason Smith should be a good soild backup center throughout his career, nothing special ..I have no problems with that.Overall if I had to rate this draft out of 10 id give it a 7.4, I don't think we could of done a whole lot better, Billy King did a OK job, what do yall' think of our 2007 draft?
We traded Kyrylo Fesenko for Herbert Hill who Utah drafted. I would give this draft more of a 5. We could have done much better.
Thaddes Young will be a great player but you just drafted Carney last year at the same position as Young..?

Billy King is a idiot, still.We need a f*cking power foward, yet he's probley looking at the roof and hoping the frickin Joe Smith re-signs with us. Get off your ass BK.
Wow just got back for a couple days. This looks like a good draft imo? I think we are going to trade Rodney Carney, I'd rather have Thaddeus then Carney. I didn't think Jason Smith would drop so far, I thought he would be around 17, not 20. That seems like a good pick. I think Derrick Byars is a frickin steal. How did he drop so far?
Well getting Thaddeus Young would be much more exciting if he wasn't a clone of Iggy and Carney. Jason Smith was a nice pickup and fills a need. Like Thaddeus Young getting a huge steal with Byars would be much more exciting if we didn't have such a logjam now on the wing. Herbert Hill will obviously never be anything amazing but I liked that trade for us and we will be solid off the bench for us and gives us some more depth down low.

herbert hill is a great shot blocker. and hell be good for your team. you guys need another shotblocker other then dalembert who goal tends most of the time. dunno if you guys have a PF, but he is capable of starting for you guys. hes also a great reboudner as well.

We could've gotten a steal with Taurean Green at 42 but what do we do? Take another wing that we don't need by drafting Byars. :no3:
In my draft grades, I gave Philly a C. I really wasn't impressed with what they did. Thaddeus Young has a lot of potential, but I think Julian Wright would have been the better fit. Jason Smith wasn't a terrible pickup, but I thought taking Tiago Splitter at 21 was pretty much a no-brainer for Philly, even if they had to wait another year for him to come over. At 30, they drafted a 6'5'' point guard with a lot of potential, Petteri Koponen, then dealt him for a swingman which they did not need at all (especially after taking Thaddeus). Those 3 things didn't make much sense to me. I do like the Herbert Hill trade, though. I think he is one of the sleepers in this draft class, and his shot blocking will be nice for you off the bench, and with his athleticism he can get up and down with your system. I think he's a poor man's Theo Ratliff.
As I said in another thread very happy with Young. Out side Oden/Durant I wanted Young.Now we need to keep Williams, Young, Carney, Iggy, and trade the rest of the crap we have.
