I see most celtics fans pissed because they dont think he can fit in their system because him and shard didnt mix well in seattle but if you look at it, He can get yall back into the playoffs but in seattle ray allen played on a very bad team, Also I see celtics fans being so youth oriented(''I CANT BELIEVE WE TRADED the #5 PICK FOR ALLEN!'') But they dont more young players! This is a great deal and you will see why when the season starts. Instead of the Celtics being so one-dimensional like they were a majority of last season you now have 3 established offensive players. A perimeter player, wing player, and a big man. It's the perfect recipe for a strong playoff push and you stlll kept most of your main talent. When we look back on this we will see Jeff Green as nothing more then a role player, delonte west another role player, and wally szerbiack another role player While the celtics have 3 years to make the playoffs and teach these young guys how to win on a big stage. Look happy celtics fans, you will now be in the playoffs for years to come(by the time Ray Allen leaves your young talent will be in its prime) and in the meantime look forward to the best shooter in the NBA.

I don't see why everyone else thought it was such a bad deal for Boston either, I mean you got Ray Allen. Sure he's not young but he can still get it done. And with Ratliff there's still a chance to draw a big man to come in at center or use MLE or something to grab a big man then they have a complete lineup. Good deal for Boston imo, without it you guys could of lost Pierce.

As I mentioned in the thread in the Celtics section, Ray Allen is not a guy that's going to have a giant fall-off any time soon. He doesn't get by on athleticism, strength, or any other physical attribute. His basketball IQ, leadership, and jump shot are not going ANYWHERE. Those skills are natural and will be there even at age 35-36. I think when he retires, he'll be like Reggie Miller - a quality veteran who is still capable of contributing every night. Even with that said, I personally feel that Ray has 3-4 years left in him around this level. I really believe that. His skills are not physical, they are natural. If it were a 32 year old Josh Smith, I'd be skeptical, but this is much different.I'm personally pretty happy with the deal, and I also think Big Baby was a nice pick at 35.
