It took me a while, but I'm pretty sure I have an idea of how it works too. Every time I leave for a few weeks for work she gets pregnant again! lol, oh my I'm so kidding if my wife ever reads this I'm gonna die lol.

The ultra rich are our most abused minority. Everyone thinks nothing of appropriating their culture.

If you want to effect social change, you have to actually do something.

You already have the power you need.

    Organize, unionize, vote.

Yes, it's a lot of work. Might take years, or decades. But it's the only way to make things better.

Older generations always make more than younger ones, for good reasons - experience, resources, and to a lesser extent, yes, greed. I'm in my 50s and make money that I never could have made in my 20s and 30s. That's just how it works.

But in any case, you will never make any wealth working for a corporation or someone else. You have to work for yourself, and/or invest. Real estate is a proven winner for starters.

I strongly suggest you read this book by Robert Kiyosaki. It will teach you everything you need to know, in an easy to understand way.

Sorry, it doesn't seem to me that you understand. At the same age as your generation was at the time, your generation had more buying power than a Millennial does nowadays. (Of course at 50+ you should be making more money due to experience, etc. .)

Many of the great paying jobs, that didn't get outsourced to other countries, are being automated out of existence, at a historically record pace here in America. They are being replaced with lower wage jobs. Millennials are straight up getting screwed.

Our U.S. government has corporations backs, but nobody has American workers backs. It's no wonder that we see the level of poverty across America that we have today.

It's not a shot at you.

But if your generation wants something, it needs to work for it.

There's no reason you can't reorganize the system to suit yourselves, but you can't expect any other generation to do it for you.

Your post wasn't shooting holes in my post. It was clearly a cheap shot at me.

Lying in the lying thread, the freaking irony...

Hope that chip on your shoulder doesn't cause bruising, it looks pretty heavy.

It was, actually, a response to your post. Obviously.

See I knew it, I knew one day you and I would agree on something. :).

I have this conversation amongst my friends all the time, there's a few of us who put in a lot of hours, and work / making money is a priority for us and guess what we all make a decent living, are we 1 %ers? no. Does it mean bad stuff won't happen to us financially? no. In that same group of friends, there are a few who literally refuse to do anything but the bare minimum and they're always mad at the world that they just don't "have more". I'm not saying @Road Ratt is one of those types, I'd even say I agree with him to a large extent that the American government and corporate greed are largely corrupt and working against average people. At some point though instead of being pissed at the government and corporations for not just handing you all the things you want you're gonna have to go work your butt off for it.

A lot of if it seems like fake outrage at those corporations too, because we have choices but people keep shopping at Amazon, keep making google accounts, keep buying iPhones, that'll show em' you're mad at the way they're going about their business. I'm guilty of that some myself, I think Microsoft is pretty freaking close to the black plague, but here I am on windows 10.

I realize this is completely anecdotal and there are very hard-working people who for whatever reason things just don't go there way, finding jobs, finding sustenance is hard.

It's not a chip, it's aspergers. When I see a lie, I will point it out. That is just the way I am. Doesn't matter who is doing the lying either.

If you want to pick holes in anything you disagree with me about, fine. But don't take petty cheap shots at my post(s). I don't deserve to be treated that way. (It was a snide and childish response to my post. You simply can't see it, or won't aknowledge it. That's not on me.)

It probably means the rapture is nigh.

It's very hard to make change in our society and very easy to sit back and complain about the lack of change (or the lack of fairness, or the excessive corruption, etc.)
It's all true, there is corruption in government, there is corruption in business, the rules are skewed towards the rich and powerful, and then that isn't enough so they break the rules that they themselves wrote. But... the people still have the power to change things if they want to badly enough. If they aren't comfortable enough with the status quo. When I look at the protests in Hong Kong, I conclude that people here are pretty much ok with our status quo.

And no, I don't practice what I preach. I'm a well-off old white male. It's just not in my immediate personal interest to change the system. I'll support you young whippersnappers if you decide to remake the world. I just hope the revolution will be televised so I don't have to get off the couch.

Well, you might want to consider that your interpretation of other people's posts might not be accurate. Aspergers doesn't make a person infallible.

You might want to look up 'the golden rule' before opining on what treatment you do or don't deserve.

I think you left out two Pirate "go to" moves....mutiny and walking the plank after a mutiny. You need to get your sea leg(s) back under you!
