Why are some people calling Nick Young a steal at 16? I personally don't think it's really a steal at all, I think he was picked right around where he should have been.Of course, my #1 steal is Marcus Williams at 33.

I kind of agree that they should've taken Yi, or maybe Noah...

He's certainly not an established pg though. If the Lakers got Chauncey or some other good pg, it would be sensible to say that Crittenton won't get a lot of playing time. Heck, even if Smush is there, he would get a lot fewer minutes, but if the Lakers just pick up some random pg, then Javaris and Farmar might be running the show. Farmar started a decent amount last year, so I wouldn't be that surprised. It is pretty ballsy, though.

It's just the fact everyone was shocked New Orleans didn't pick him, and the other teams that passed up on him didn't really need him, I guess.
tiago splitter will turn out to be solid...woulda been a lotto pick a few eyars back if he didnt pull it...quoting experts there.
I love Glen Davis at #35. Some mock drafts had him going to Philly at 30. He is a high risk/high reward player. He is proven though. In the end I see Marcus Williams looking like a gem, I'm not sure how long he will be with the Spurs though.
I know I may have said he could be a reach but I don't see how Sean Williams is a reach at #17. Who are the Nets gonna pick? Jason Smith? Or the shotblocking menace Sean Williams? Williams is a much better fit than any of the bigs availible at 17. He's a tank.

The Sonics already have a slew of PF/C's so it made little sense to go after another big. The only position the Sonics needed after the trade for Wally/Delonte was SF where they only had Gelabale.
Marc Gasol isn't really a steal at 48 imo. He's out of shape, has rocks for hands, and not to mention not as athletic as Pau is.

At the moment Farmar will probably be getting most of the starting minutes. I wouldn't say he started a decent amount last year though, he was a starter for two games the entire regular season.
Farmar is still a project at this point. I think that starting Javaris Crittenton is the safest path for the Lakers to take. It is likely that Kupchak signs a better backup for Crittenton but I can't see Javaris off the bench at this point.

That's what I was kinda sorta getting at with my Smush being an FA post. Seems to me that the backbone at PG will be Crit and Farmar, because it doesn't make sense to me to take two pg's at decent picks in two straight drafts, then go after some other free agent. I dunno.

Crittenton has a lot of potential, but he's still very raw, which is why he fell down to 19 in the draft. Also, you'd think Phil would trust a 2nd year point guard, who has played in his system for a year and started over Smush in the playoffs, over a raw rookie who is brand new to the system/league.

Farmar is going to be the starting point guard this year, with Critty backing him up. Maybe through the course of the year that could change. But I have a lot of faith in Farmar.

Since Farmar has played in the triangle for one full season it is likely that on opening night he will be starting. However, I believe by the end of the regular season, Javaris will be starting. I never saw all this potential in Jordan Farmar, but I've only watched 5-8 Lakers games this season so maybe he's got more talent than I thought he did. However, from what I've seen I would take Crittenton.
