"Not particularly good", lol. Simons has holes in his game, for sure. He doesn't have a high usage, so his PER is low. However,.... That's a fantastic FG% and TS% for Simons. Guards just don't put up percentages like that. FG%: Simons - .515 CJ - .406 Drexler (career) - .472 Michael Jordan (career) - .497 TS%: Simons - .590 CJ - .503 Drexler (career) - .547 Michael Jordan (career) - .569 So, his shooting #s are GOAT.
You are using an extremely small sample size with Simons for comparison as well as not using all the data available for McCollum.
I knew someone would post this bullshit. Platy used those EXACT STATS to conclude that "Neither (of their stats) were particularly good". I pointed out that this was wrong. "Sample Size" has zero to do with the discussion. #ReadTheThreadThenPost
He had a couple of really good defensive plays last night...credit him that..the whole team is getting better defensively and he's definitely stronger than last year..first 3 games of this road trip he seemed lost most of the time
I have to ask "why not?" If anyone enters a discussion with an opinion, they are discussing it aren't they? I more often than not read the last page of a thread without going back thirteen pages to follow anyone's back and forth...if it's a two way discussion I use pm mode myself. If the opinion doesn't interest your view of a discussion, no need to call it out either. I have a hard time comparing CJ and Simons at this point and if I did, it'd be CJ's rookie and sophomore season probably....Simons seems ahead of the curve from what I've seen of his game...seems to dribble less than CJ....CJ has started the season with a pretty serious 3 game shooting slump as well.
#sigh The problem with small Sample Size occurs when they are trying to project into the future. "My guy's a supstar, check out his Numbuhz" is ridiculous 4 games into a season - but that's not what happened here. Platy said his numbers were trash, so I, in appropriate context, pointed out that the shooting numbers were all time great. Again, Sample Size has nothing to do with it.
.. Mb. L I simply disagree with your assessment in the post I responded to. No biggie. but no reason to be so attacking.
I simply reply to the post, don't have angst against posters. I liked one of your posts right after posting. #DigitalHug
To be fair, I never said his numbers were trash. I just said that neither CJ's nor Ant's overall numbers have been particularly good so far this early season. And I don't see that as a particularly unreasonable position.
The dude has decent size for his position (might still grow too) and seems to be at least trying on that end. Once he bulks up a bit more and get more experienced there's no reason he can't be a good defender
I can’t wait to watch his development. He’s essentially a rookie. He’s been pretty efficient with his shooting and I don’t think he’s really found his groove yet. That’s a good sign. There are going to be growing pains with stuff he’s probably never had to really worry about; creating for others, defense, etc, but he’ll be fine eventually. He can do everything CJ does but is more explosive and tries harder on defense.
All depends on what you consider his position. Right now I would consider him more shooting guard than point guard and in that respect he wouldn't be considered decent size as he would be slightly below average in height and weight.
Seth Curry played SF for 16% of his time last season. Simons is bigger than him. I'm sure we can at least have about 5 mpg with Dame-CJ-Ant out there at the same time, depending on defensive matchups.
It's not height but lower core strength...Curry has way more lower core strength than Ant at this point...not as easy to push out of position when he gets his feet set...Ant has built some upper core strength but his lower core is still toothpick thin
Sure, I'm not against it. Didn't we do that for a bit against OKC or am I remembering wrong ? We did that for 5 minutes against the Spurs and when +12, but that might have been when Lillard went ballistic so to take with a grain of salt (lineup was Dame/CJ/Simons/Hood/Tolliver) Did it for only 1 minute against OKC (+3)
