Mario Hezonja put up a better three game stat run as he ended his NYC stint than Zach Collins has ever done. Doesn't mean Mario or Paschall are necessarily better than Zach. Zach did have the highest +/- on the team. I think what Paschall's game against us really reinforces how well and truly fucked we are in guarding big 6'6 to 6'9 guys. Even when Zach is healthy (which is starting to look like many months from now) we are going to get worked. Hood and Bazemore just don't have the size and strength to handle them. Hezonja has all the physical tools, but he's just not a very good basketball player. If this is what a second rounder does to us, just imagine Giannis, Kawhi, George, LeBron, Butler....
Zach is already very good defensively, which is what this team needs more than scoring. He just needed to be more consistent with his shoot. The blazers made a bunch of borderline NBA players look like stars last night.
How many times has Zach fouled out this year? Or last year for that matter? O this year 4 last year Such a stupid narrative.
I will say this however, I have been completely against trading Zach but watching Dame and CJ and knowing how small most championship windows are if we can get the right 3rd “star” to pair with them and a healthy Nurk I would trade him and anyone else on the roster besides the fore mentioned 3.
Funny that some of the same people who were saying the season was over when Zach's surgery was announced are now also talking like he isn't a good player anyway. Zach was playing well this year. He's not a big stats guy but he also doesn't get the same opportunities to put up huge numbers like John Collins does or Eric Paschall did last night. Put either on the Blazers and they barely play.
I think it would be much easier to trade Zach, unfortunately we are stuck with CJ imo, hopefully his slow start ends soon.
Shoulda drafted the druggie Collins instead. https://www.ajc.com/sports/basketba...es-for-drug-violation/A5hmBx1eOWSuM7ActY5YPO/
Trading Zach would be so incredibly stupid right now. Mainly because unless it's a big expiring contract injured players don't have much value. It's never smart to trade someone at their low value point.
Maybe if Zach was playing him instead of Tolliver maybe he wouldn't went off like he did have you thought about that.
We sure look a lot better defensely with Zach in there then we do now. Anyway Zach gets 5-8 shots a game and some of his attempt is off offense rebounds.Give him 14 -15 attempts then you can talk shit about him.
