I actually don't mind this for the Bobcats or Knight. This free's up Felton to be the absolute man as the distributor and playmaker of the Bobcats. He is one of the best young ones we have in the game, and seeing him finally take over full time will pay off huge for the Bobcats in my opinion. For Knight, he will go to somewhere that needs him more and will get him more time as the playmaker and distrubutor of the offense. I don't know how much room they have, but I really believe a veteran presence like himself would fit well with the Sonics who will be young, and could really use a distributor to dish off to Lewis, Green and everyone else like that.

Its time for Felton to start now, they waived him as a favor because if he didn't start he wanted to go else where so this is good for both sides you would think. Not sure how much he made but a simple trade of Knight to Detroit for Murray wouldn't have been bad at all.

I believe that the Bobcats could have absolutely gotten a second round pick for him in return, they could have more than likely gotten a later first round pick for him. He is a very good, veteran talent that plays pretty good defense at the point guard spot, and sets up a team nicely with his very good passing instincts.

Brevin Knight is a good passer, but I guess it is Raymond Felton's show to run now...and the don't feel like cutting away at Ray's minutes to play Brevin....

Brevin Knight is a horrific shooter, but excellent defender and playmaker. Hes smart and a good leader...hes actually said for a number of years he wants to come back and play for Memphis again, I dont think he ever moved outve Memphis...Cleveland needs to get him, his playmaking skills are what they need.

Danny Ainge has to go out and pursue Knight hard, he makes so much sense. He's exactly what we need. Come on Danny, don't let me down.

This move makes no sense to me still. I hear comments about it's time for Felton to run the show, well of course but this now leaves a hole at backup pg that will need to be filled. To me, Brevin Knight is better then most of the free agent pgs out there(backup wise) and Cats should have been kept to occupy that backup spot. It's like not Brevin was expected to start and run the show this upcoming season. He's a good guy and at times last year, took a backseat to Felton. Don't get it.

They definately could have gotten some depth or a pick in next years draft by trading Knight, but there could have easily been good reasons for why they did this. They could be wanting to free up roster space/money so they can go out and have more space/money immediately to offer free agents money. Maybe they figured trying to trade Knight would take a while to get something decent in return, so it was easier just to release him and have money that much quicker to put towards re-signing Gerald Wallace and bringing in someone else. I would have kept Brevin Knight, or traded him for something of value, but I don't overly believe it was the wrong move just cutting Knight. Rok, I don't know how good he of a mentor he was in the backup role to Felton, maybe they didn't get along or something. Knight up until this season was the starter, and then he got hurt and Felton took back over completely and was averaging up around 10 assists per game with Knight not playing at all. Once Knight came back, his assists and passing went back down to being a 7 assist per game guy for a while, even though Knight was on the bench, and mainly just a backup. So that might be why they got rid of him, I can't say for sure I'm not their brass or leadership, but maybe they just didn't think Felton performed as well when Knight was dressed out ready to play.

He won't be in NY or Indiana. NY has too many guards there already and Indiana isn't in a position to win right now which is what Knight wants to do.
