trading knight for a second round pick I think would have been difficult.his salary for th upcoming season is reported to be around the 4.5m mark and waivering him instantly saves us 3m. I couldn't see many teams trading a pick and also picking up his contract.if this means we can afford to resign crash then its a great move.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Rok, I don't know how good he of a mentor he was in the backup role to Felton, maybe they didn't get along or something. Knight up until this season was the starter, and then he got hurt and Felton took back over completely and was averaging up around 10 assists per game with Knight not playing at all. Once Knight came back, his assists and passing went back down to being a 7 assist per game guy for a while, even though Knight was on the bench, and mainly just a backup. So that might be why they got rid of him, I can't say for sure I'm not their brass or leadership, but maybe they just didn't think Felton performed as well when Knight was dressed out ready to play.</div>Well I'm not really looking at the mentor role of Knight, because I think that's not needed anymore. Just do his role of backing up Felton and I don't really find it surprizing if Felton's number dropped due to Knight coming back from his injury. I mean Kevin Burleson was the backup pg and later on Jeff McInnis was brought in. Two guys who aren't really going to take much time from Felton and push him as a starter. I think Knight fit well with the team and would provide good insurance in case Felton were to get hurt. Like I mentioned, he's better then most of the options available, unless Bobcats were able to land Steve Blake, it's dire. This move just leaves another spot that needs to be filled when it wasn't warranted.
