@Lanny When you get mature, you don't need much. Much less a Volvo. Hell, I am happy now with an old Toyota truck, half the payload of my prior Chevy but then half again the better mileage. A perfect tender for the MarAzul. Life is good.
You need to make it a win-win. You want the Volvo, at a low price. What does the salesperson want? Does he want his car or house to not burn in a suspicious fire? Does he want to feel his kids are safe? Does he want to not unknowingly ingest poison? The key to negotiation is understanding the needs of the guy on the other side, and making the benefit of the deal clear to him. Good luck. barfo
I don't know if I could pull that off, but he does have horse that he loves and I've got a bone saw. All I gotta do is disable his house alarm and be very very sneaky which is one thing I'm very good at.
If you’re gonna drop that kind of coin on a car I’m guessing maintenance and repairs aren’t going to bankrupt you. Might as well get whatever you and the wife have your hearts set on. Volvo’s aren’t the ol’ reliables they used to be, that’s for sure. Their reliability has gone downhill some with the addition of all the electronics over the years, but they aren’t complete lemons by any means. Still have a good safety rating also. For 80k my only choice would be a Toyota LandCruiser. Those things are luxury tanks. Your great grandkids would still be driving it around in 30 years, long after any Volvo’s of this era get crushed into cubes.
1. Don't have any children. 2. The Chinese have investing over $11 Billion in Volvo. They are dedicated to engineering. 3. All Volvos except the XC90 are built in Sweden except for the bumpers which are built in Norway.
