I figured while you guys are giving up free young talent for old vets...you guys could ship us Gerald Green in a deal for Rasheed Wallace.Pistons Give:Rasheed WallaceFlip MurrayCeltics Give:Theo RatliffGerald GreenGives the Pistons a solid athletic swingman who could be a starter in a season or two. Gives the Celtics a chance to compete for the title.Potential starting Lineups:Pistons:PG: BillupsSG: HamiltonSF: PrincePF: MaxiellC: Nazr or FA MLECeltics:PG: Rajon RondoSG:Ray AllenSF: Paul PiercePF: Al JeffersonC: Rasheed WallaceI think it gives the Celtics the right amount of pieces to take the east, instead of being in the inbetween where they are right now. IMO the Celtics almost HAVE to move Gerald Green to aquire that 5th starter to compete. if they don't, they will be a playoff team and nothing more...With 1-2 less young pieces. if they were to do this trade though...they still have Rondo and Jefferson in a few years. And they re still able to compete for a title THIS year as well for the next 3 years or so.People ae still talking KG there...but would you really wanna deal Jefferson plus Green or other assets to do somethin like that? With a Sheed trade you get somebody who is less talented then a Garnett..but you still get an All Star bigman who can bring intensity and offense and defense to the squad. Most fans do not care for Rasheed Wallace, but I don't think it's because he's got a shortage of talent. The only reason I really wanna move him is because of the age factor. I wouldnt trade a guy like him if he was 27 to 28.The Pistons meanwhile would probably then look to deal Richard Hamilton for a younger bigman and build around Billups/Green/Tayshaun/Maxiell/Amir and possibly Stuckey. Either that or packaged with Nazr to get an expiring and a less talented youngman and a pick.
That isn't really a bad trade because it isn't the "primary" trade, like the Allen one was. I would have to evaluate where the team wants to go but this definitely would be a nice little trade. I think we would be better off as a team though signing Brevin Knight with the MLE and leaving it at that. By trading Wally and Delonte we unclogged our jam at the wings a bit and by keeping Gerald we don't need to rush Tony Allen's return.
I would pretty much NEVER do this. I'm kind of questioning if it was a joke or not. I mean I like Rasheed, but Gerald Green is one of our most valued young talents, and for crying out loud people, we got a 7 time all-star!

But you have Piece and Allen. You lack another bigman.Rasheed is a great bigman, a 3 time all star. What other good bigman can you get for Gerald Green that would be available that is gonna fit as nicely? I can't think of any. Sheed is that final piece for you guys...at least he could be. That trade takes the Celtics from the dumps to probably my favorite in the east next season. It gives them an identity. Right now it's kinda up in the air.Murray a solid backup too.

I'd rather have Camby (who is available) than rasheed.J O'Neal would be even sweeter. (and less likely)
