Yes, but Stott's defense is exceptionally hard on bigs. They need to sag, and challenge shots, 15+ feet away from the basket and challenge around the rim. The big almost ALWAYS has a guard coming downhill at them. It's a really tough scheme for bigs. When they have so much ground they have to cover.

Weren't you the one that pointed out that we went to the conference finals without Jusuf Nurkic? Lots of people thought the season was done when Nurk was done.
The team could be doing well now if we had either Zach Collins or Nurkic. Since we have Whiteside, Collins might be the more valuable player right now. We can't play Nurk and Whiteside together.

I'm not sure I pointed that out other than to state a fact. I thought the season was over when Nurk went down last year. It certainly appears we couldn't afford to lose Collins this season and that is especially magnified without Nurk. If Collins doesn't hurt his shoulder I'd guess we are talking about this team much differently right now as a .500 or above team. Then no one would be saying anything about missing Aminu.

The thing is with Dame and CJ on a team they can win any game if one of them gets hot no matter what the personnel is. It was a great accomplishment to beat both OKC and Denver without Nurk but I think we're seeing why they need Nurk over the course of a full season.

Shooting 3s for one but we really just swapped Biggie for Skal which I think is a steal now that he's starting to find his game...Big Ed protected the paint and made us one of the best rebounding 2nd chance pt teams around....now we are a photo negative of that

Me too, I know he's hurt right now, but I am still very frustrated that they let him go for basically nothing...

For some time now we missed a coach, that can keep players accoutable. And even your beloved Aminu and missed ET were playing hero ball at times. Everytime Aminu or ET had the ball last season, I was like "no, no, pass the ball, o shit". I think all we need in here is swap Hood for Westbrook, cos Hood does not fit to this "whoever got the ball, try to score boys" Stotts system strait from hischool. And I think, yes, Vonleh big body could be quite useful and btw, if Gasol will stay here as big men coach I say it is the best transfer NO made this offseason.
