I can understand most of Neil's work, i really do. I can't understand how you can extend Terry after you've watched so many games with him at the helm.
This isn’t “calling out the forum” stop being so fragile. (1) I said “MOST people in this forum [were wrong]”, and (2) I’m criticizing opinions, not the forum itself. Maybe if you would stop contradicting yourself so often, I wouldn’t have to remind you when you contradicted yourself and you wouldn’t feel “attacked.” Remember when you mocked me for saying Turner was “roughly equal” to Bazemore? Remember when you then started shitting on Bazemore nearly every game and saying he sucks? I memba.
Olshey's going to do what he has to do to keep his job. You really think he gives a shit what happens after and he gets fired? As long as Neil is here I expect him to keep swing for the fences. What would you do if you were in his shoes? I doubt it would be to slow the process down and pump the brakes.
Next year is gonna be amazing. Nurk Zach Nas/Hood Cj Dame And on the bench we have developed players in Skal and Simons and lots of money to spend with baze and hassan off the books. Then last but not least, a shiny new lottery pick (hopefully a high one) if we can just somehow by the grace of god hit a home run there you guys will be happy we had this quick down year
...or what they get for Baze/Whiteside in a trade. Even if they let both contracts expire, they won't have a ton of money to spend.
Olshey makes the big bucks to determine a player' ability and team fit. He screwed up in 2016 and it appears that he screwed up again this past summer. Mario Hezonja, Anthony Tolliver, and Kent Bazemore have been big disappointments, while Hassan Whiteside is heading there. Meanwhile, we could have signed Aminu for the same reasonable contract that Orlando did, then used him as Zach's backup. When Zach went down, Aminu would have been a decent starter (compared to who we're using now!). We can all look back at the forum and see that people mostly agreed with Olshey's moves, so we were mostly wrong. However, Olshey is paid to be "right" about his decisions. Hopefully, Olshey will redeem himself before the trading deadline. However, based on his many flubs (yes he has some good moves too), I'm not very confident.
Olshey isn't sweating at all right now...the west is stacked and he's already tweaked the roster with Melo since Zach went down...more to come. The panic isn't coming from him....it's coming from the forum...just read through the game threads pretty much from our first game. Worst part of the season to me is the panic around here with our injuries and brutal road schedule early. We have the talent to compete once we start playing better endgames. I'm sure he's moving our expirings when he gets the right deal
typical....the S2 panic is strong around here...it's like folks have never followed decades of Blazer changes. It's gotten to where cheering or saying anything positive is fuel for these guys to knock on your door
I can't imagine any Blazer coach or front office job is in jeopardy. He's going nowhere, same with Stotts. Mantra: Next year!
Man I hope the Blazers go on a long winning streak and we can all be happy. Then be at .500+ In time that a move at the trade deadline can bring the Blazers into contender land again.
