    If this was a high school team the coach would tell the team you have to pass 5 times before you can shoot and I don't care if we even get a shot at this point. Just to prove a point.

    Depends on who you talk to. There are merits to both sides of the agrument. Guys like D'Antoni would say that isolation allows you to control your best player taking a shot or making a play for someone else. Other coaches prefer letting the defense take something away and you take what is left.

    Over a large sample size, there hasn't been no correlation between winning and assist or isolation percentage, so it's tough to make a case that one way is more effective than another.
