That alone is not a good influence.Yao Ming is 7'6, but Marion and Garnett are far more athletic than Ming and have better jumping abilities. Just because Yao Ming is taller than Shawn Marion by almost a foot, Marion is still the stronger more athletic player.

The Draft went 3 rounds deep and there were only 8 teams at one point. Meaning, that more talent was evenly spread out. Plus, there were no pussy euro players back then.</p>
