<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Los Angeles Times -With Minnesota seeking prospects, the Warriors are now offering Brandan Wright, Monta Ellis and Patrick O'Bryant in exchange for Kevin Garnett.Minnesota is asking for Andris Biedrins. Golden State is offering Al Harrington instead and may also insist that Garnett waive his $6.5-million trade kicker, so it's not done yet.</div>http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/468...up_in_kg_trade/Why not give up Andres Biedrens? Sure he's putting up a solid 10/10 line in only his third year but you're talking about Kevin Garnett here. I guess Golden State doesn't want to give up all of their young talen tot get Garnett as they are already giving up Brendan Wright and Monta Ellis. Most likely not going to happen like the other KG rumors but I also posted the Ray Allen trade rumor and said it was probabely never gonna come true but it did. [IMG]

KG isn't going to wiave that kicker either...so most teams won't be able to handle a 29 mil cap hit this year, lol.

Because he is the most efficent center in the league, he's only 21, and he has the quickness and athleticisim that many centers do not posses. Me I don't want to give up Wright or Ellis for KG. The most I'd give up would be Harrington + POB.

If Brendan Wright or Monta Ellis weren't involved I would do it in an instant however in this situation you're giving upt oo much young talent. Warriors need to re-organize the trade.

All of those guys are on their rookie contracts. Harrington and Foyle would have to be added. Which basically guts the Warriors roster for one player.

They'd be killing their depth doing that trade as it is. Maybe give up one rookie and Biedrins and possibly some money? I really don't know what they could do without destroying the team. But Davis and Garnett would be beyond awesome.

Give him Baron Davis, Stephen Jackson, Pietrus, Al Harrington, and whoever is left after the deal and they could win it all. The Warriors have a $10 million trade exception after the Richardson trade so this actually happening is a distinct possibility. They're a veteran team already with a few young players that any rebuilding team would love to have. They'd be better off making a run now. Give Minnesota O'Bryant and some combination of Wright, Biedrins, and Ellis. O'Bryant would probably go since G-State is a running team and he doesn't fit. Any 2 of those 3 would be a great young package to re-build with, plus you get a ton of cap relief with the trade exception.

Has KG been rumored to go to every single team by now?

You can't combine a trade exception with player contracts in a trade. Therefore the trade exception would have to be used in a trade by itself. So for example, they could trade the $10 million exception to another team (without any other outgoing players) for a player or combination of players whose salary totals $10 million.EDIT: I forgot to mention, they could still utilize it in a KG deal, but it would be hard to do. They would most likely need to get a third team involved and make two separate deals with Minnesota (which is legal).

Just because KG is a superstar, it doesn't mean he took that team to the WCF. Cassell and Sprewell did everything he didn't and couldn't do, and that is what made them successful.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Golden State Warriors President Robert Rowell said the team would have no problem spending the $10 million trade exception acquired in the Jason Richardson deal. As for entering luxury-tax territory, which is likely if Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett somehow lands in Oakland?"I've always said this team will pay a tax if we're in a position to put a team out on the court that's going to compete at the highest level possible," Rowell said. "I'll also back up and say that in the history of who's won championships in this league, the San Antonio Spurs have won four championships and they've paid tax once. ? So it's very doable."</div>

Things have been quiet on the Kevin Garnett front since draft night weeks ago, but don't believe for a second that the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves have consummated a secret KG deal and are simply waiting through an NBA-mandated period before Brandan Wright can be traded?Word of such a deal surely would have leaked out.Once the adrenaline of draft night vanished and Warriors exec Chris Mullin accepted that he had to move Jason Richardson without knowing if he would end up with Garnett, the likely KG time frame transitioned to September, October or even February.Link------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
