<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Free agent sharpshooter Jason Kapono has quickly reached an agreement Sunday to leave the Miami Heat and sign a four-year deal believed to be worth $24 million with the Toronto Raptors.</div>http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2922597WTF, WHY
Aren't the Raps nearing losing one of their best three point shooters in Morris Peterson? Good move by the Raptors, a big payday for Kapono; sucks for the other teams looking for him. 6MIL a year might be a lil steep though...

We could have really used another shooter last year...This guy will come in and get the job done...one of the best shooters in the League.I want Joey and Juan Dixon out now, with the acquirements of Delfino and now Kapono.
Jason Kapono will be a good fit for the Raptors but don't you think Colangelo offered Kapono a bit too much? 24 million is alot for a guy who will just be spotting up for three pointers. Couldn't Colangelo have worked out a better deal? Miami wouldn't have offered him nearly as much as 24 mil.
good deal for the raptors. we now have a shooter who can spot up from the 3. but hes kinda paid too much to what I think. but then colangelo probably wanted to overpay him cause he wanted him so badly and dont want any other team to be able to get him. but he will be a good trade bait as well.

All NBA teams overpay actually so it's nothing new or nothing surprising.

Also, it's not as though a guy like Ben Wallace is completely useless on offense, he's usually focusing on trying to get an offensive rebound off of a missed shot. It is true that a jumpshooter at the caliber of Jason Kapono will force the defense to play offense but you see alot of guys in the NBA who can do that.
<span style="font-family:Tahoma">To bad he couldn't do nothing with Cleveland. I believe Miami will miss him. Good Signing for the Raps.</span>
The raps were in need for another shooter. Tj ford has more options with mo pete at sg and jason at sf it could be dangerous. A great move for the raps they could go further in the playoffs this year.

Mo pete was very inconsistent last year. Even though he's had great seasons with the Raps, I don't really want him back.I say we should go for a rebounder/defender now and then we're set.

We just brought in Daequan Cook, Wright should get much more minutes this year, and we will still probably have Jones and Posey. Walker will occasionally make some shots and Williams is a sloid shooter. All Kapono did was knock down threes, we have enough shooters to take care of that.
I knew someone would overpay to get Kapono. Miami doesn't even need him, and Kapono just had a good year (statistically) because it was a contract year for him and he was looking to get big bucks.
I really think Kapono is overrated. Its proven in the miami system that shooters get great looks because of Dwade and shaq and that accounts for 90% of kapono's game. I really dont think he is that great of a player. Damon Jones anybody?
ha, 24 million is way, way too much for a team that already has too many shooters. sorry, but they don't need a softie like kapono, let alone overpay him.

Damon Jones anybody? </div> Exactly. Most of Kapono's game is centered around getting a good pass in a good spot. In Toronto he won't get the looks he did in Miami and you will see his percentages from three drop back down to around 40%. Like you said, it's the same thing with Damon Jones, in Miami he'd just stand out there and hit them all day long, now in Cleveland he's nearly useless. It's the same deal with Kareem Rush, if he doesn't get a set shot he's ineffective.
