Yet another example of overpaying for a FA that you will regret in a couple season. Everyone knew someone would overpay for him. If Kapono's shot isn't falling, he literally brings nothing to the table at all, no toughness, no rebounding, no defense. You don't give a player like that $6 million a season.

At least they know what they're getting with him, which is more then you can say about other types of players like him. His shot will be falling more often then not. Not to mention that the guy is only 26 years old. The FA market is really weak IMO this year. Walton doesn't fit the Raptors as well. And Nocioni will command more money more then likely. It's not an amazing pickup for the price, but solid.

He's one of the most one dimentional players in the league.

When we're under the cap, we can afford to overpay someone if that means bringing in a good piece to the puzzle.
Last season, we won alot of games coming back from leads by shooting a high percentage from the 3 point line. He can help us out alot. Even if we overpaid him, we know what he's good at and what we can bring.

You don't hand out $25 million to a guy who does nothing but shoot 43% from three. If this were any other team you would go, "They overpaid". Yeah, your under the cap now, wait a couple years. Same things I said when we signed Dan Gadzuric.

In your opinion how much money would you have given him in a 4 year deal? I would have been happy givin the guy about 4million a year. But if you wanna pullhim away from his current place..you overpay another million or so. Not really a big deal when your cap situation is that of the Raptors.I really would not be concerned with his rebounding. Defensively if you're comin off the bench or going into the game late tomake defenses play honest or make a 3 pointer...defense really isn't important.

Someone other than Mo Pete for Chris Bosh to kick it out too, especially if he is the best 3 point shooter in the league. From what ive heard, he is a solid perimeter defender. This guy is a great addition to our lineup especially at the 3 and helps in tight situations. Let me also put it on record that we dont have someone to shoot the threes in late game situations, except for TJ Ford, who has to cut through all the defense to make a play, he is an excellent catch and shoot three point shooter.

I'm not debating that he won't help your offense.

Having Kapono being able to come in and as I said, make defenses respect him OR make a shot is a great benefit to have.
Kapono averages 10 ppg off the bench, that's great??WILLIE GREEN AVERAGED 11ppg off the bench last season, why don't the raptors sign him for 100 million. All im saying is that I think Jason Kapono is a little bit overrated when it comes to his scoring ability and being able to have such a lucrative contract now, some of you guys seem to be praising him a little too much IMO.
