I suppose there might be an argument that his existing base might be more motivated to get out to vote in November. But those who want him out may also be more motivated to vote. It's mostly an attempt to make it true by saying that it is true. barfo
this is what I mean. Everyone is an independent yet no one is an independent when it matters. Like during an election
I've never voted for a Democrat or Republican for president. I've always voted independent. I am opposed to the DNC / GOP and the two-party system as it stands.
^^^ Right there with you...the two-party system is simply to dysfunctional. They can't even agree on the color of shit.
I have never been a fan of either party and the reason I registered as an independent when I was of age, but would never vote for a 3rd party unless I felt they had a legit chance as otherwise it's a wasted vote. I choose the one I feel has the best chance and meets my ideas the most. trump will never get my vote.
Its pretty obvious they both are so partisan with crazies on both sides it's turning people off. There a few dem candidates I would vote for, but if its EW or BS I'll more than likely line up with a 3rd party. Trump, EW & BS I will not support.
I think two party is dumb as well, it pushes people into corners. Like, I lean right but I don’t agree with the social conservatives majority of the time. But because there is no real other party that can offer me better economics, freedom, and security... I’m stuck with the GOP.
I'll vote for who I want to win whether they have a chance to or not. Just like in sports I'll cheer for the Blazers to win whether they realistically have a shot or not. I'm not going to all of a sudden be a Bucks or Laker fan just because they are running away with the regular season. I personally think those parties have done a great job of convincing people you don't vote for them and you're wasting your votes. No wonder independents never get anywhere.
Not even a valid comparison as we have seen any team at any time has a chance to pull out a victory. When was the last time any independent made it even a reasonable race?
Yes, most of us are forced to make compromises in selecting one of the two parties. When I can't not, I usually choose the Libertarian Candidate with full awareness this candidate has no chance. It is where I land when I just can't vote for a Rep or the Dem. But I see no fault in this, it is best we make the choice when serious of the two major candidates. Sending several Presidential candidates forward for the Congress to sort out would be far worse. Same with Congress, having a congress with no majority party would really suck with no fix in sight.
That makes you my ally. I will vote for Trump, and you don't vote for his opposition and I will be pleased. I appreciate the help.
Don;t worry, I will be voting against trump to off set your vote and I have spoken to several people, some of who voted for trump that will not vote for him again.
A vote for a third party candidate is the same as a vote for Trump. If you voted for a third party candidate you can't complain about trump because you basically voted for him also.
I don't agree with that...I vote for who mostly lines up with my beliefs, i'm not a straight ticket guy one way or the other. Im absolutely in favor of a third or fourth party with an equal playing field. I think Trump won because many independents and closet dem voted more against Hillary even though they gave trump their vote. If there had been more viable options with 3-4 parties with equal treatment, Trump would not have won, but Hillary.
One of the reason I'd like to see a viable 3rd 4th party so those, I think it could harvest some of those no Clinton to Trump voters or whomever runs as the dem.
