That was ruined by one poster? Lock the poster out and warn him rather than lock a thread that didn't violate anything.
It was not onesided. The thread became a back and forth of personal attacks and insults. Not productive. Sly intervened by removing most of the posts on both sides and closing the thread before things got worse. I agree with the action he took.
There was ONE person that created the problems and why it went back and forth. No reason to lock a thread when it can simply be handled by removing the main problem.
I do find it interesting that the one person who jumped into the thread for the sole purpose of talking shit about another poster, and had NOTHING to say about the topic at hand, went and started a thread demanding someone else be punished. Mind boggling irony. At least the other offenders were actually discussing the thread topic. The thread in question was nothing but a politically motivated jab with violent undertones and it deserved the exactly the lifespan it got.

You certainly have the right to your opinion. But, you can't aim your posts at other posters. Your post was aimed at Johhnyboy and was deemed an attack. Like it or not rules are rules. I see his replies. You guys seem to have a hard time expressing your side of the story without attacking each other. Which is exactly why the other thread was closed.

Yes, the thread was a politically motivated jab. As are most of the threads in OT. I doubt Fez started the thread, thinking conservatives would take it lightly. Yes, Cup jumped in. I pointed this out. All of your were attacking others in posts. Which is why the posts were deleted and the thread closed. Careful with the attacks/insults.
and you think all the posts started by abm, maris and marazul aren't politically motivated and intended to incite the other side? Are you going to lock all of those threads as they all become a back and forth pissing match. All I ask is consistency and I felt fez was treated unjustly. I am not singling you out. I am saying all three of you played a part. Yours was the shortest part. It was still a personal attack. If you see someone attacking someone, report it. Closing that thread is par for the course. A usual action we take when threads get out of hand. Nothing inconsistent about it. Sly is the one who locked it. I agree with his assesment and actions regarding the thread.
Did you read my first and second lines? I said most of the threads in OT are politically motivated jabs...that covers everyone. Some of those threads have gotten locked if they get out of hand, break the rules, and/or are not productive. I get that you feel Fez was treated unjustly, he had his fun, he also had a part in it, and will move on to the next thread. Let it be. We are very consistent. The most consistent. The consistentest.
