You honestly thought he’d crush it this season? Kid is 24 months out from playing with HS kids. He he loaded with raw potential. He is doing pretty much what I thought. On nights, off nights. He’s been scouted now, playing against grown ass men......he’s about where he should be. Works hard and has a great attitude, Ant is gong to be just fine.

Is he instructed to not pass? I know that comes off ridiculously critical, but it seems like he’s being told be aggressive, be aggressive get shots up and I thought early in the year he was not just shooting better, but letting the offense come to him more.

At the start of the season I loved his passing. I don't know what happened. He started getting his shot blocked around the basket a lot, then he lost his confidence and started missing shots from everywhere, and stopped finding guys at the same time too. Don't know if it's scouting or lack of confidence or what.

You have some of the worst basketball takes I have ever seen. As someone who actually played PG I have to tell you that Anfernee's basketball IQ already supercedes that of C.J. from a team standpoint. What I will give C.J. credit for is his fan/coach/gm foolery IQ that he uses to garner over-inflated contract offers, over-adulated fawning, and too many passes on what would otherwise be considered detrimental performances.

Can’t tell if this is parody. I hope so.

yeah dude I’m sure playing backup pg at your gym’s rec league instilled you with enough knowledge to criticize the decisions of people like Olshey who get millions to make basketball decisions. CJ made espns top 13 and got paid 9 figures bc of a big conspiracy.

It’s pretty clear Stotts thinks he is far, far better than Ant. If you wanna talk about delusional opinions you should probably note the fact that you are in disagreement with every expert and using your laughable basketball experience to support an ad hominem argument.

Yeah, you could never last 5 minutes doing what I do bud. Hell, the only guy agreeing with you is the resident Lillard hater on his 10th account.

Also, if my takes are so bad, why do you listen? And if you dont listen, how do you know theyre all bad? Dont compare my takes to yours, thats insulting.

I laugh at the people who obviously have no experience playing basketball talking down about other peoples experience playing basketball. If his experience is laughable to you (and you don't even know the extent of it), then yikes.

Its the same sport. Theres some complexities added to it the higher the level you go, but someone can learn those complexities, and outside of those complexities, things are the same.

To further that, its not even so much the complexities at least in basketball (though there are some), its the level of the athletes.

I played PG too, and I'm not really sure I agree with you, I thought the first 5 or so games he looked much better, and it's not so much the shot going in or not. He's become basically CJ but not nearly as good at creating his own shot over the last 10-15 games. Once in a while, he'll make a play where it's like if we could get that from him consistently the bench would be good, but more often than not it seems like he's been told to force shots and be aggressive. It's easy to hate on CJ but I don't really think Anf's BBIQ is higher right now.

    Edit:
Just curious what are you seeing that leads you to think Anf's BBIQ is better than CJ?
Offensively I tend to see two guys who look to be forcing shots good or bad.
Defensively one on one Anf's better at moving his feet (but that's not BBIQ), and worse at rotations IMO, not that CJ's good at making rotations...

    1) ad hominem

    2) I have experience playing basketball. Playing for a d3 school doesn’t make you an expert, sorry.

“This 19 year old who was playing in highschool 2 years ago has a way higher basketball IQ than CJ, the 13th highest ranked player in basketball who is paid 9 figures and set multiple franchise records last year in the playoffs. The coaches and GMs and experts at ESPN have all just been TRICKED. I know because I played basketball at an amateur level.”

worst most arrogant basketball take I’ve ever heard tbh

CJ plays the passing lanes as good as anyone on the team except maybe Baze.
