One guy that I've liked since I saw him play for the Clippers in Summer League is Yaroslav Korolev, he is a potential 3 position young player. I like his skill set, he was beasting the SL. He could be had for the cheap as depth, he's an interesting player.

but who does he replace?we have 2 second rounders coming in, 13 guys under contract?allan ray and powe perhaps.depends on any moves Danny Makes.Another problem is, we're currently at 63 mil in salary cap, not including the 2 rookies.

I don't think Korolev makes much sense. He's basically a less talented Gerald Green, and we don't need to spend any money on another unproven wing player.

    Brevin Knight
    Steve Blake
    Chucky Atkins

Those 3 guys are the only ones I'd really like. Nothing else jumps out at me except of course Billups (not gonna happen), Wallace (doesn't make sense), and Lewis (also doesn't make sense). We need a veteran point guard and a big body inside that will rebound and play defense. I think we have the perfect opportunity to sign a solid backup point guard with the MLE (maybe even a little less than the full MLE, which is $5.21 million I believe), in Knight, Blake, or Atkins.

We're gonna have to get our big body via trade. Some guys I'd be interested in are Marcus Camby, Brendan Haywood, Joel Przybilla, etc.

EDIT: I completely forgot about Anderson Varejao. He'd be a great fit, but as Combs mentioned in the Trade Idea thread, he'd probably cost us more than we'd like.

I didn't wanna make a new topic just for this one little sentance so I'll post it here.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Predictably, executive director of basketball operations Danny Ainge said the Celtics were keeping all options open with regard to trades and free agency. "We're busy," he said. "We still have some work to do." Ainge added that the Celtics were "looking at some point guards, but that doesn't mean [the team] is dissatisfied [with current point guards].". . . When asked if Al Jefferson was off limits on draft night, Ainge said, "Yes." When asked if he continues to be off limits, Ainge would not give as definitive an answer. "Jefferson we think is a very special player," he said. "I can't say that a player will never, ever be traded for a certain deal. That's not my privilege to do that, but I'm not actively pursuing a trade with Al Jefferson." . . . Lon Babby, who represents both Allen and Grant Hill, was at yesterday's news conference. Babby said Hill is determined to play next season and has drawn interest from Boston, Phoenix, Detroit, and San Antonio . . . Paul Pressey, who spent the past three seasons with the Celtics, serving as an assistant coach for the first two and as an advance scout during the 2006-07 campaign, was hired by the Hornets as an assistant coach. . . . Condolences go to the family of John Svenson who passed away Saturday, June 30. Svenson was a partner in the Abbey Group along with Robert Epstein and David Epstein. The Abbey Group has been a part of the current Celtics ownership group since the beginning.</div>I don't see the point in this because we already have enough players at the SG/SF spot. It would be a solid signing for league minimum, but this just kills any chance of Gerald Green even playing if you ask me.R. Allen/T. Allen/GreenPierce/Hill/Green??or would Green be above Hill on the depth chart?Thoughts on the interest in Grant Hill?

My guess is that if we really want to make improvements inside and get ourselves some real help, Gerald will likely be the one to go. If that's the case, Hill would be a nice veteran addition off the bench.

I haven't seen a list or anything, but I think Brevin Knight would be a great addition. I think it's time this team starts getting some veterans.

Gerlad Wallace (put him at PF and move Al to Center) and Chauncey, yes I like big name players. Those mediocre players who will turn out being a waste of money dont intrigue me

Gerald Wallace is not a 4, can not, and should not play it. Also, "mediocre players" are a big help. We need solid veterans on this roster, we don't necessarily need another star, nor is Wyc really even willing to pay 4 stars.

Varajao and knight would be the two best for us. Outside of that theres nothing real that stands out. Gerald wallace would be too much money, and really wouldnt help us substantially.I say more than anything grab knight or varajao early in free agency.

Knight would be nice though. He will probably end up on a contender though.
