    no he didn't:

4:58 Anthony Tolliver misses 23-foot three point jumper
4:37 Hassan Whiteside offensive goaltending turnover
4:00 CJ McCollum bad pass (LeBron James steals)
3:46 Damian Lillard makes free throw 1 of 3
3:46 Damian Lillard makes free throw 2 of 3
3:46 Damian Lillard makes free throw 3 of 3

3:17 Carmelo Anthony makes 13-foot pullup jump shot (Damian Lillard assists)
2:38 Carmelo Anthony makes 25-foot three point jumper (Damian Lillard assists)
1:48 Damian Lillard out of bounds bad pass turnover
1:33 Kent Bazemore makes two point shot
57.8 Kentavious Caldwell-Pope blocks Kent Bazemore 's 2-foot driving layup
35.5 CJ McCollum makes 8-foot driving floating jump shot

what was happening was that CJ and Bazemore got the ball and didn't run any offense but their own, and didn't run it well. That ate up 5 possessions. Dame had a turnover on a lob to Whiteside. He drew two fouls, including on a three. And Dame had the only two Blazer assists in the last 5 minutes

Can't complain too much; we got beat by a team with a lot more talent, and once
Skal went down we were really short, in more than one way.

The worst miss in basketball by far for your defense is a missed shot at the rim or near the rim. What’s the opponent’s scoring rate when our ISO drive to the rim fails? That would need to be factored in. And what is the effect on the personal growth of our young players who stand around watching ISO offense instead of being highly involved in a moving offense?

The injuries have really exposed Stotts as a coach, especially defensively without Nurk and Collins to cover up shitty high school schemes. Did Portland even go to zone once tonight?

Yes, that's what some have been saying: This is a broken roster.

It's always a bummer when the data doesn't back up the narrative, but I have no doubt a new story will be told.

Just like Pop and Kerr are being "exposed" this year.

it was worse because his turnover resulted in a fast break and transition three for the Lakers....5 point swing; and it came when he was into his herky-jerk-shake-and-bake-on-on-one-hero-ball mode and he was trying to beat Lebron in the box and ended up just looking stupid

Those would be great data points to get to try and back up your narrative. All the available data does not back it up to this point.

"Effect on personnel" would be near impossible to quantify. Portland has a reputation for developing players, but I don't know what to attribute that to without making up a story.

Pop loses players all the time and still wins. He lost Murray last year and still won 50 games. Golden State is missing their two best players, three if you want to count KD who is irreplaceable.

I think they're both great coaches. I'm just using the never-Stotts logic and seeing if that criteria works elsewhere. Apparently the criteria is only good on Stotts, nobody else.

Pop and Kerr have won 8 championships. Stotts has won 4 playoff series. Two of them have proven they can win titles with talented rosters. Stotts has proven he can get swept

I thought you were saying the Blazer's ISO is not good, but Houston's (with Harden) is. The data available does not seem to point to that.

If you can find opponent’s scoring rate when our ISO drive to the rim fails and compare it to the rest of the league, that might help gain some traction on your theory. I'd love to find out.

What are the ISO numbers for CJ? When Dame ISO's he is much more likely to kick out. CJ, not so much.

    Just curious the difference.

I didn't make up the criteria, I just applied it to other coaches to see if it was valid.

If the criteria was a coach is only good if they have won multiple championships, we could have the discussion on which coach with multiple championships is available for us to hire.

I think Pop and Kerr are great coaches and better than Stotts, that's why I'd never use a criteria that would also mean Pop and Kerr were also "exposed" as coaches.

Let's get Phil Jackson, that'll do it. He and Melo can rekindle their relationship.
