Would you take on Blake if Detroit didn’t ask for anything back except Whiteside and filler like Tolliver?

I would trade CJ for Blake... anything else would create a salary cap nightmare. Also, ball movement will not improve as long as CJ is here no matter who we trade for.

How do you account for the good ball movement in the first half of the Knicks game? McCollum played significant minutes in the first half. McCollum was also a significant part of the teams last year run to the WCF. Some of you guys have so much hate built in that it clouds your judgement.

It’s not hate, I actually like CJ individually, I just don’t like him and Dame paired together. Especially eating over 70% of the salary cap. Them talking turns going one on one just kills the flow of the offense. The proof is in the pudding... DEAD LAST in the entire NBA in assist for 2 of past 3 seasons. Yes, they are individually talented enough to get hot and go on some runs, but that style is not sustainable for long term success.

I would just like to see what Dame could do with a different #2 option other than CJ with more balance to the roster... and he will turn 30 next season so time is of the essence to see if something different will work. Dame/CJ combo has had enough years already... time for something new before Dame gets too old and it’s too late.

30 is hardly old especially for a player like Lillard who is in phenomenal shape. It makes me chuckle every time I see someone acts like a player turning 30 will retire in a couple years. Lillard plays more iso ball than McCollum and he's the point guard. McCollum is a shooting guard.

Yes, again, I don’t have a problem with either one individually... it is about committing so much of the payroll to 2 players so ball dominant and ISO heavy... DEAD LAST in NBA in assist 2 of past 3 seasons

I'm not as high on that as I used to be but yes I'd still do it if the cost was that low. The Blazers need a risk to pay off like that.

So the Blazers need to take a risk but the just can't give up anything that would be a risk?

Yup, now you get it! The risk of Griffin is too big to give up anything of significance.

Why would ATL do that? They have no incentive

First they will go for Drummond, but if they miss on him it's possible they give it a try for Hassan. A 1st might be too much, but it will not be their first and Hassan has played good enough for someone to guve him a chance. I think Atlanta is done with young guys and now wants to win. They also have their project big in Bruno Fernando.

They have 7 wins so far this season, it’s a write off.

I understand, but this is why i did not include their pick but Brooklyn's which cannot be inside lottery. Hassan can sign a two year contract with them during summer. Of course they can do so when he is unrestricted, but maybe they wanna check how he fits first. He is not much different in the style of play compared to Drummond. He is 4 years older thought so this is why they ll go for Drummond first.

In any case all i hear from their organization is how annoyed they are with their losses and that they have to start winning games, they cannot stand losing anymore etc.

They include a 1st for Drummond because he actually still fits a rebuild. Whiteside won't be a part of any young team's rebuild.

Mayyyybe Parsons and a 2nd for Whiteside. Saves the Blazers about $2 million off their tax number.

Because the Blazers can't take any risks.

    Keith Smith on Twitter:

Former BYU standout Eric Mika has left Xinjiang in China to pursue opportunities in the NBA. Mika spent the preseason with the Sacramento Kings before being waived. In China he averaged 19.9 PPG and 11.7 RPG over 7 games played.

Rumor is Mika is in line for either a 10 Day Contract (they can be signed starting tomorrow) or a Two-Way contract for the rest of the season. He played really well during a short NBAGL stint earlier this year with the Stockton Kings.

like I said somewhere else...that's the kind of a trade I expect if the Blazers have a real shitty record approaching the trade deadline. Picking up two or three 2nd round picks and saving some tax money is a better option than adding some albatross contract at the cost of a 1st, then continue losing while signing a long term lease on a fancy house in purgatory

They gotta do something. They need to add another big, it isn’t even a suggestion anymore. It needs to happen, and if it doesn’t, then Olshey needs to come out and say theyre punting the season and everyone is getting rested and nobody needs to waste money going to any of the games.

Btw Holdahl is of the opinion that they’ll be making use of ten day contracts.
