I saw this book at Borders the other day and skimmed through it and whatnot and got me thinking if it was really true. It had all these different theories.http://www.apocalypse2012.com/There is the website for it.Anybody think this is true?
I remember watching this thing on history channel about the Mayans and their predictions. The day the world would supposedly end on December 21, 2012. People give leverage to it because they are the Mayan people, and were very intelligent. Of course, there have been quite a few world ending threats in the past so it is hard to believe these things. But if it did happen, it wouldn't surprise me entirely.

I believe in this more than 6/6/06 because the Mayans have been right about a lot, but I don't expect anything to happen. Nostradamus didn't predict it this early I don't think and well, he has been right about everything.
From what ive seen on tv, its not just the Mayans predictions but theres several other Apocalyptic predictions that people say is dated to 2012. I dont take it seriously, although its extremely eery seeing that alotve the Mayans predictions have come true, but from my personal beliefs you will never know when the end of the world is until it happens.EDT: I didnt take 6/6/06 seriously at all...that date has popped up a good 10 times already....
ehhh...well the only way I'd see it happening is the sunspot cycle is going to peak in 2011, and it could cause problems in a world that's incredibly electronics dependant.
Whatever...didn't the Mayans believe that 2012 was the beginning of a new cycle, not exactly the end of the world but a period of 'changes'?
Im not sure, but I think your right. That life is started over every so and so years or something...to clense the Earth. Not sure, ima look that up tomorrow.
I remember NASA talking about some kind of meteor that will come near the Earth around that time; wierd...
I just know that their calender ends at that time, it could mean a new beginning.Anybody ever though possibly that they just got tired of making a calender considering that they had wrote over 400 years or so of dates in it?
I've read a lot of stuff about this, and most of it's crap. The Mayan calander does end on that date, but it doesn't predict the end of the world, just a new(I forget what they called them) and that every thing will start back at the begining. The two scaries end of time predictionest I have read are Father Mullighan, and Taqik Al-Shamder(sp?). Mulligan was a 6th century monk who has accuratly predicted every pope since his time. he doesn't do it by name, but rather by something unique to that pope. His second to last Pope was a boater, John Paul II was an boater. his last Pope he said would Anger the followers of Muhammed(which he did), and would estentially end the Catholic Church.Al-Shamder predicted that the greatest conflicts in World history would begin 7 days after the summer solstace, 1015 after the year of his birth. Al-Shamder was born in the year 999, and sure enough to the exact day World War one began. He also predicted that in the new lands of the Vyk, a tyrant leader born of the people will distroy Islam, Christiandom and good itself. Vyk is an old term for the Vikings, and during the same time the Vikings discovered New Foundland, North America. And there is also a lot of striff between Christinaity and Islam right now. Al-Shamder also predicted that the Tyrant would not be a man, but a woman, and she would bring about the 4th of the 4 conflict to end humanity(WWI, WWII, Cold War). Shamder was right on many of his predictions, and I've always wondered why he isn't more famous. He said that the Ruske would invade the Persians, and the USSR did invade Afghanistan. Wars would reign throught out the Islamic lands prior to the the 4th conflict, and sure enough they are. And that machine not men would do the killing.Another guy which I can't remember his name. said something about to many people on the lands would push them down and the sea would overflow. this could be a reference to global warming.

It may not be Hilliary. I dont recall if he set a date or anyting when this was to happen, but even if it happened in the time frame of 2012, it could still not be Hilliary. there is still an election in 2012, plus Canada could always elected a crazy female leader.

Thats true, and the president doesn't take office until 2013 anyhow. could always be the vice-president.I know I'm Spelling him name wrong. I typed Al-Shamder into the search engine and its not comming back with anything. I'll try to find the book.
