The Portland Tail-Blazers Announces Hiring Of Head Coach Nate McMullen. "It's good to be back" said McMullen, who returned to the club after 8 years of absence. No--the NBA created a professional basketball gaming league a couple years ago, with 17 teams sponsored by NBA cities. Portland had one of those 17 teams--Blazer5Gaming. Led by our center Dayne Downey ("OneWildWalnut") and our point guard Nidal Nasser ("MamaWhosDatMan"), Blazer5 reached the final game of the initial tip-off tournament, won the first in-season tournament ("The Turn"), and achieved the league's best regular-season record, only to lose in the first round of the playoffs in true Blazer fashion. Last year, returning MVP and DPOY OneWildWalnut and crew came out and again posted the top regular season record, including (I believe) 11 straight wins, but once again found nothing but failure in not just the playoffs, but each of the 4 tournaments. This made 6 consecutive tournaments in which B5 bowed out in the first round, despite boasting the league MVP in consecutive years (point guard MamaWhosDatMan won the honor in the league's second year). This season, Blazer5 is hoping that the continued continuity coupled with the coaching change will lead to postseason success following their now expected regular season dominance.
