There are a few, mainly because we've been hit by a lot of injuries, so have more of an excuse (Golden State, even more so). But what's up with the Jazz? And I thought the Spurs would be bad, but not as bad as they've been.
Also: the Hawks looked like they might be solid and fell off a cliff. And they've got the added burden of having traded Doncic. And wasn't this the year that Minny was supposed to put it together?

Denver has kind of sucked recently, too.

Maybe the Spurs, but they dont have a “Superstar” in their prime. I think we found the category the Blazers are best at.

as far as the Spurs, they are ahead of Portland right now

last year, the Blazers had the 3rd best record in the WC, the 5th best record in the league, and were one of the 4 teams that made it to the conference finals. Right now they are 12th in the WC and 21st in the league. Hard to imagine a more disappointing result at this point. I guess you could point at the Warriors, but they have an excellent chance at a #1 pick so at least their disappointment may pay off. Meanwhile, the Blazers are seemingly trying to find the optimal stage of mediocrity

For all of us the blazers are the most disappointing, obviously. But as far as the garbage sports media goes, we’re right on par. I don’t think anyone on television knows the blazers have made it to the playoffs at all in the last ten years. We’re probably doing slightly better than the pundits predicted we would.

Hawks very disappointing. Maybe Sacramento too, but they have lost Fox and Bagley for many games and it's not they have the depth to cover for it. Or maybe they do as Bjelica and especially Holmes have been excellent. I never believed the Spurs so I didn't expect much better than what they are doing. Denver and Utah are not playing well, but they get results and I think they will be where they want to be after 82 games.

How can any team be more disappointing than the Blazers?? Neil spent a league high $148 mil (almost $10 mil more than next team) on a roster that is 7 games below .500 near mid season, and DEAD LAST in assist for the 2nd time in 3 years.

Is this an example of new math?

    148 is now 10 above 145?

So the difference between 145 and 148 is whether you include Gasol. Regardless, this thread should measure each team's disappointment as a ratio to its payroll.

We're the only team that is truly underperforming. East Top 8 is basically the same except for revitalized Miami in over injured Detroit. Out West, the Thunder are the most surprising but they shouldn't have been. Chris Paul is an upgrade from Westbrook and they got SGA/Gallo for PG13. If anything, we should've expected more from the Thunder whose excitement has died down a bit since they got blown out by an injured Lakers team led by Kyle Kuzma and Rajon Rondo at home. Lakers are maybe a slight surprise this season. I don't think many people had the Lakers dominating the West. Memphis is an early surprise but there's a ways to go with them. Most believed Dallas had a shot at playoffs this year but no one predicted 2019-20 Luka Doncic. Fuck, last year, Andrew Sharpe (fired recently by SI) said Luka's rookie year and trajectory would be the same as Tyreke Evans'. There were many who thought rookie Luka was as good as it was going to get.

We're probably not the most disappointed fans, though. I think the Golden State and New Orleans fans have had it worse this. Warriors fans paid hiked up prices at a brand new arena to watch what was promised to be another MVP season by Stephen Curry. Instead, they are the worst team in the conference after 5 years of being the best. Then you have New Orleans who got the #1 pick, drafted a generational talent in Zion Williamson, and added pieces that got people excited about a playoff run. Instead, it's January, their record is 14-26, and they have yet to see Zion play. Recent reports said Zion was being taught how to walk and run. That's not what a fan wants to hear about their number one pick.

Over $37 Million of that salary is out due to injury right now. That's got to count for something.

    Worse than us?

    Lets see,

    The Ducks before Coach Bombay
The MonSTARS without their talent stealing abilities
The Cleveland Indians without Rick ' The Wild Thing' Vaughn(although they sucked with him at the start as well)

I know there are more but I got the the ball rolling for everyone.

Nurk $12 mil + Hood $6 mil + Zac $4 mil = $22 mil... that means Neil is still working with $126 mil in salary which would still rank 13th in NBA not factoring in other teams missing players, still way over the cap.
