So, the idea with Melo was that he would give us the third scorer we needed and keep us afloat until we get our injured players back. Well, we're not afloat. But maybe we'll be good when we get Nurk and Zach back? But then do we still want Melo?

Now, I'm biased because I thought signing him was stupid. But he's done just enough in terms of his personal stats to look like he was a good signing - after all, what do you expect for the league minimum? But the trouble is, he's not a regular minimum player. Stotts literally HAS to play him and almost HAS to start him, even if (as I believe) he's hurting the team. And now there's been all this fuss about his "amazing comeback" the team can't simply waive him. Are we stuck with him, even at the expense of giving Little and even Hoard some developmental minutes?

His contract expires at the end of season which is at worst 42 games away, or at best 48 games away. I don’t think it matters whether we feel comfortable keeping him around, we can do that.

Try to hype his value and trade him for a couple 2nd round picks.

Melo can't be traded without him approving it and he simply goes to the bench and helps our bench scoring which is sorely missing.

like I just posted, Melo can't be traded unless he approves of it. He's making the minimum so unlikely to get anything back worthwhile even if he approves a trade.

Watching Carmelo Anthony in a Blazer uni has easily been my favorite part of the season.
And that says more about the season than it does about me.

No trades. He ends up with the Lakers if we deal him and help them win a championship.

I am enjoying his run. A bright spot on a shit season this far.

The problem is Melo is not the problem matter he been on of the bright spot on the team. He actually been playing better on D then our 2 guards

True, but that's a sad state of affairs.

Melo has been great. He’s shooting great from 3 and has hit a game winner. We’d be worse without him.

He's been a horrible defender lately. Look at our defensive splits with him on the floor recently. And watching him backs it up. While he was active early, now he barely tries to contest shots or rotate. We'd only be worse without him because our next option is Mario Hezonja or Anthony Tolliver. We'd be better with Jonas Jerebko than Carmelo Anthony.

I like him and it’s been the only thing interesting this season. Literally the only thing. But it would be nice if he was just a guy off bench who scored some and went back to bench.

So your saying he must listening to the coach defense scheme because nobody rotates on this team.

One good thing about him is Melo’s bricks don’t stink.

This is a young man's league. He's 36 next year. There are exactly 0 guys in the entire NBA 36 or older who regularly start in the NBA this year. There are only 4 guys over 35 who are starters, and that's counting Carmelo and LeBron.

Carmelo is not starting for any team next year unless the team is clearly tanking right from the outset, and I find it hard to believe he wants to go to a tanking team.

I think he's been sufficiently humbled after his Houston and OKC stops to realize that he is not going to age like LeBron where he gets to start for pretty much as long as he wants to. Very few players get to do that. His path to staying in the league is the same that Dwyane Wade and Vince Carter took. Play a role. Fit in with the plan. Adapt as a bench player.

I really like the idea of him coming off the bench next year for a few million, pretty much like Wade and Carter did once they turned 36. Given that (aside from Aldridge) guys tend to re-sign here if we want them, I think the chances are excellent that he returns.

I think he will sign with Nets next year. Back in NY area, joins the Durant/Irving show.
