<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Celtics guard Tony Allen said today he'll be back in November from the torn ACL in his left knee he suffered last season, but was non-committal about being ready for the start of the season. "For sure I know I'll be back in November," said Allen, when asked if he would be ready for the start of the season.Last season the Celtics played their first game on Nov. 1. Pre-season games were played in October. Allen injured the knee on a freak play during the third quarter of a 97-84 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Jan. 10. After the whistle, Allen went up for a dunk. He missed the superfluous slam and landed awkwardly, injuring the knee. He had surgery three days later. Allen, who said he has yet to meet new teammate Ray Allen, was upbeat about his progress."It's coming along great," said Allen. "I'm running. I'm shooting jump shots, but I'm just taking it easy because some days it feels good and some days it feels bad. [There are] ups and downs. But for the most part I feel comfortable about getting back to where I need to be." </div>http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/ce..._out_until.htmlAre things finally starting to go our way?
we won't know until he gets about 10 games under his belt and the knee gets some fatigue from playing.
10 Games? Definitely give him more than that to come back from that serious of an injury. It took him until about January last year to catch on. But now because of the strength of the SG spot we won't need to rush him back and we can be patient with his return.
I didn't mean we'll know how is game is etc, but after about 10 games with some PT, his knee will start to tell him how it's doing. IE is he ready to take on a normal load or will he have to nurse it back for some time longer. He's confident he'll be ready to go, but he won't know until he's in an actual game or ten to get a feel for where his knee is at.
Great news. the way this kid was playing last year we could potentially have a GREAT offense, with some terrific role players. If he comes back to 75% next year, were talking definite playoff seed.
