No link, but while watching SportsCenter, Rick Bucher reported that the Grizzlies flew down to Argentina to give Nocioni an offer. He said they were going after him very hard.I think he would fit in well with the Grizz especially with their new head coach who preaches defense which Nocioni is good at.

Yeah, he'd be a okay fit but this doesn't help with our lack of frontcourt defense. I just hope we get Varejao, but Nocioni wouldnt be a bad pickup, just really wouldnt address our needs.

I wouldn't mind having Nocioni, but the Grizzlies main need right now is a front-court defender. Nocioni would just give us another wing man, which we really do not need unless we are trying to trade Miller, which I don't think we should seeing he provides a lot of offense for us. Nocioni would be a okay fit, but I would really like for us to push for a defensive big man, mainly Milicic.

I agree, although Id rather have Varejao simply because hes a very good rebounder and post defender, as for Milicic has so much more potential, but some say he lacks intensity which I can see why they say that. Hes an excellent shotblocker, but that doesn't always mean hes a good low-post defender.....which we all know Varejao has pretty good defense in the post. With Varejao, we get intesity and hustle every night but he doesn't have Milicics potential, but Milicic doesn't have Varejaos motor. Tough decision, but we're more than likely to sign Milicic now though.

I'm a little concerned about how hard Milicic is going to play after getting a bigger contract, because we have seen a few of those players from the Serbia/Albania area of Europe come over, get their big contract and proceed to do nothing. Milicic lacks aggressiveness from time to time to go out and make things happen, is more content sitting back offensively and letting them get him the ball. Defensively he lacks no aggressiveness, will play any one guy pretty tough with his length, and will block shots. He will be good there, but as I said, offensively I am a bit concerned by his aggressiveness, as there was times when he wasn't even out there offensively. If you guys can get that up, and continue his offensive learning of the game, he will be a much better pickup than Varejao.

Yeah, but Milicic is also still very young, only 21 years old, and is recieving more playing time each year he progresses. I think in an up-tempo offense like the Grizzlies are going to be playing next season, Milicic could show more aggressiveness offensively. We really need to aggressiveness on defense though.

The Grizzlies' unleashed a full-scale recruitment of Chicago's restricted free agent Andres Nocioni. Not only did general manager Chris Wallace fly to Argentina to meet with Nocioni to sell Memphis and the Griz, head coach Marc Iavaroni joined the discussions via telephone. Pau Gasol even phoned Nocioni to present a convincing pitch. The Griz still have not tendered an offer to Nocioni. Chicago would have seven days to match whenever Nocioni receives an offer. Commercial Appeal------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------It looks like the Grizzlies want Nocioni pretty bad.
