Juan Carles Navarro and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement which will allow him to come over to the NBA this season.

His rights are held by the Washington Wizards .

"I have always I thought I would be able to play in the NBA and to measure myself against the better players of the world," said Navarro.</div>

This is amazing news for the Wizards. Now that Navarro is coming over it completely solves are depth problem in the backcourt. Navarro is an aggresive scorer who can also dish and played a huge role on FC Barcelona in the Euro League last season. I'm very excited about Navorro and Young joining the Washington Wizards. I seem him in some league a few years ago, he had a lot of raw talent and he could shoot. I remember that because he had like 40 points on like 19 shots or something.

Some more info on the Navarro situation:

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>July 7, 2007 - 12:11 pm
    Washington Post -
The agent who represents Spanish guard Juan Carlos Navarro said Navarro is serious about testing himself in the NBA and wants to play for the Washington Wizards next season.

Barcelona recently agreed to lower Navarro's buyout to around $2 million after the player repeatedly expressed a desire to come to the NBA. Under NBA rules, the Wizards can pay up to $500,000 of the buyout and Navarro would have to cover the rest.

"Juan has made it clear that his first option is to play for the Wizards," said Navarro's agent, Alex Saratsis. "He feels that Washington is on the cusp of doing something very good and he knows that he is the kind of player who can fit into that system and help them do something special."</div>

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>July 7, 2007 - 12:13 pm
    Akron Beacon-Journal -
Juan Carlos Navarro, a Spanish guard whose rights belong to the Washington Wizards , negotiated an unexpected buyout with his European team, FC Barcelona, on Tuesday.

Faced with salary-cap issues that might make signing him a challenge, the Wizards are believed to be listening to offers.

Navarro's agent, Alex Saratsis, said the Cavs were one of the eight teams who have called to express interest, the Akron Beacon-Journal is reporting.

The Cavs are believed to like Navarro's shooting ability, especially from mid-range. There are some questions about his defensive skills.</div>

This information along with the offer for DeShawn Stevenson seems to make it more and more clear that Navarro will not be playing for the Wizards next season. The Wizards are involved in trade talks with many teams revolving around Etan Thomas and/or Brendan Haywood. It is likely that Navarro will now be included in these talks.

It's not neccesaraly that he doesn't want to play for the Wizards but that we can't afford to give him the contract he's requesting. DeShawn Stevenson will be likely re-signed leaving only 2 million in the MLE. With all these offer's it's likely that Ernie will decide to accept one of them rather than pushing into the Luxury Tax for Navarro.

Navarro has said that he is really not sure that he'll be playing for the Wiz next season, because there are "too many players" at his position. The link I have is in Spanish or w/e but you can read it from Hoopshype.

Navarro knows that his rights may be traded to another team. The Wizards will probabely not be signing Navarro after the Stevenson signing. This is old, lots has changed in the JCN situation but he'll probabely be playing in the NBA next season.
