Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! How far do u think the knicks will go in the up coming season.I think they are going to make the playoffs I hope that they win it all
Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! My prediction is this: They'll make the playoffs as a 7th or 8th seed, and win 1-2 games in the series, but fold in the first round. If they made it past the first round I'd be shocked, if they don't make the playoffs though (unless injuries), I'd be pretty surprised.
Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! I think they'll have a good season, but then be eliminated in the first round.
Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! ALL THE WAYY LOL!!jkI think this will be there best season and they will lose in the second rounnd!
Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! We are at the very best an 8 seed at this time, and I will not guarantee any type of playoff spot at this time. Still have to see how the team will mesh and how much potential trouble Zach gets himself into.
Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! I think they are a top 6 team in the East next season. I'm one of the only posters who predicted them to make the playoffs this last season. I think with Randolph they are a better team right now. Pistons, Heat, Bulls, Cavaliers, then it's between the Wizards, Nets, Bucks. The wildcards are Orlando and Charlotte, I don't know if they take the next step with the top 4 or if they are at the top of the second group.

Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! I don't think the Knicks will make the playoffs. They didn't improve any needs. They needed a defensive player, seeing that they gave up 100 points a game last season. They brought in a post scorer, which is something they already had. This team has bad chemistry and morale, which IMO, is a big factor in winning. All they did was add another bad disciplined player to the team. If they do make the playoffs, it will be as a 7 or 8 seed I feel.
Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! Fighting for 8th seed. If they do make the playoffs, out in first round.
Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! I think they showed glimpses of how good they can really be last season when healthy. Eddy Curry needs to learn to effectively pass out of the post, though. I can see the Knicks winning between 41-44 games. The East's best teams have been on a steady decline for some time now (besides the Cavs) and I really don't see how the Knicks DON'T have a chance to make the playoffs. Sure, it'll be tough. But I trust Isiah can rally his troops to the playoffs. I'd actually be very surprised if they didn't make the playoffs. They added some good young pieces to the squad. I think Nichols, a player they got from Portland in the Randolph deal, will help a lot more than most people think. He's a steal at the 53rd pick by Portland. The Knicks just need to find the right formula on the floor and figure out a good rotation. I think, barring any injuries, they can have a solid rotation:G Stephon MarburyG Jamal CrawfordF Quentin RichardsonF Zach RandolphC Eddy CurryBench:F David LeeG Nate RobinsonF Renaldo BalkmanG Mardy Collins'F Chandler/NicholsC Randolph MorrisThey should trade Jerome James or something for a second round pick somewhere. I'm not sure about Dickau and Fred Jones. I don't think they're gonna be with the team once training camp starts. But Isiah said a lot of good things about them at the press conference. Maybe, he changed his mind?
Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! My prediction is they will start off well with a healthy team but then some key players will get injured slowing them down and they will just miss the 8th seed
Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! Right Now what im mad about is that there divison is soo good now lol. We got NJ - carter,kidd,jefferson.Boston- Ray Allen, Pierce, al jeffersonToronto- Bosh, ford and all there international playersPhilidelphia- there the worst but maybe theyll do some big trade, they have thadius young and iggy thoAnd then there is the knicks! They're team looks like it can beat anyone right now
Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! For this topic, I do not see the Knicks making it to the playoffs at all. Getting Randolph is decent, but the trade really doesn't do a whole lot to improve things. Last year they played more up tempo, and it really catered to the perimeter players like Stephon Marbury, Q-Rich and some of them. That's when you guys were at your best I thought. This year they won't be able to play that same pace because their two big men are fat and slow, and won't be able to keep up that pace. When you only had one big man that was like that, it was fine. Now with both of your starters being bigger and fatter, it will turn into a more half court set team. That would be fine, except in a half court system, is when defense matters the most. At that point in time the Knicks will have no defense, so playing a half cour system will hurt them even more. Offensively Randolph does nothing to help out chemistry, just provides another chucker that shoots a very low percentage from the block. They also don't have a perimeter shooter to pull people off of doubling him and Eddy Curry, and even if they did, these are not guys that like to kick back out once they get the ball. So I don't see them finishing very well with Randolph there.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BrewCityBuck @ Jul 3 2007, 10:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I think they are a top 6 team in the East next season. To say the Bucks are in a class above Orlando is retarded. The Bucks have no defense, no interior toughness, all they have is some scoring. The Magic have defense, have interior toughness, and with Rashard Lewis about to come to town, and Stan Van Gundy having the Magic run a bit more they have scoring now to. The Magic are a better team than the Bucks, and with the addition of Rashard Lewis will prove to be better than the Wizards, this upcoming year also.I'm looking at the playoff picture record wise being Pistons, Cavaliers, Bulls, Heat, as the top four teams in the league. Then the Nets/Raptors and Magic will fight for the 5-7 best records in the league, including the Nets and Raptors fighting for who gets to be a top 4 seed and win their division. Then the Knicks/Bobcats/Celtics and Wizards fighting for the final spot of the playoffs.
Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! I don't think getting Randolph catapulted the Knicks into championship contention by any stretch of the imagination, but I do believe at the very least they are playoff contenders. Zach Randolph doesn't shoot a horrible percentage for a PF that has range up to around 18 feet. I do, however, believe the Knicks can at least maintain a .500 record for the better part of the season, and that would be enough to secure them an 8th seed. People are referring to the Curry-Randolph tandem to be the "Black Hole". And sadly, that is true. For the reason that, neither one can pass at all from the post. But I think the one that really needs to learn how to pass from the post is Curry. He'll still be the team's focal point. Randolph doesn't need to lead the team in shots every night like he did with Portland. And most likely he's gonna have more open looks because the opposing team's defense will be focused on Curry. So his shooting percentage will more than likely go up.Also, valo, I don't think the Wizards will be bottom-feeders. I think they'll win their division this season. They were plagued with injuries all season long. Players were in and out of the lineup. I think this is how the season will end:1. Chicago2. Detroit3. Washington4. Toronto (due to division setup)5. Cleveland6. Orlando7. Miami8. Everyone else will fight for this spotMiami wasn't doing all that well even when Wade was healthy. They're just a really old team. They haven't added any pieces to help out. And with this new age of small ball, their oldtimers just won't be able to keep up.
Re: How far will the knicks go !!!!! Zach Randolph shoots about 46 percent from the field, not very good when you consider that Dirk Nowitzki has a slightly higher field goal percentage, and takes mostly jump shots. Then you also take into account that he is among the worst in big men field goal percentage, and that's pretty bad field goal percentage. Plenty of other big men with shooting with mid range shots are shooting in the 50's for percentage. As for the Wizards, they are not a top team this year. The Wizards were winning the division before everyone got hurt last year, but things are changing this year. First off for last year, most of the time that Wade was healthy, Shaq was not healthy and was not playing. Once Shaq came back they started catching the Wizards while Caron Butler and Gilbert Arenas was still there. The Heat are a better team than the Wizards, and as long as both players play for about 50 games each, they will be able to beat out the Wizards. The Magic finally got an outside scoring presence, so unlike the Wizards, they will have alot more offensive balance than the Wizards have. They are a better defensive team than the Wizards, a better rebounding team. With them scoring more points per game, but keeping the same type of defense, they will be a much better team this up coming season and better than the Wizards. It will be between Miami and Orlando at who wins the division, with Miami's big question mark being how many games Shaq plays this season.

Pfft...I see the Knicks being an 8th seed at best actually. Everyone says that now they have two very nice post threats, but guess what...bad defensive teams don't win unless they are unbelievable on the other end...Plus the Knicks will have terrible chemistry? How many ball hogs do they have on their team? I'm counting around 5-6....And with Eddy and Curry, you'll get post scoring, but these guys are also lazy as hell on defense, and they don't get blocks or rebounds. Zach gets 10, which is just okay for the minutes he got in Portland...but Curry got like 6-8 a game, which is just pathetic.I'm still not buying the Knicks being a good team..7-8 team at best, but I don't even know if they'll do that.

He did it last season, and the year before that. His body just can't sustain the grueling 82 game schedule too. I think half the time he's able to play, but he's just sitting out in order to rest.Plus, the rest of the Heat doesn't look that good to me. Their bench is no where near ours.

This year, while he will miss games, I think he will end up playing up around 50-55 games and we will see them squeeze out a few more wins. As for the Raptors, they won't run away with things in their division like they did last year. The Nets can easily pass you guys for the division lead, the Knicks have gotten more talented, and the Celtics got a big jump with Ray Allen. So they may even loose more games this year than they did last year, since they have to play 16 games against these four teams that have gotten better. Whereas with the Heat, the Magic are the only team in the division that has improved enough to give them a run for their money. The Wizards stayed pat, and are now the third best in the division in my opinion. Jason Richardson was nice, but the Bobcats are still not up enough to really compete, and with the Hawks upgrading through rookies, they will unquestionably struggle at times, because of young players. I think the Magic have a good chance of being better than the Raptors this year, and I definately think the Heat will be better.
