This is just speaking hypothetically. Not looking at the probability that it happens. Just say that the Blazers had the opportunity to keep the current roster together with just minor tweaks (e.g. draft pick, moving on from Hezonja and Biggie, etc.), that Carmelo, Hassan and Ariza are willing to find a way to come back and play next season with a healthy Nurk, Zach and Hood. Would you be in favor of maintaining the current roster if it were possible?

You would have three players whose primary position was center (look at Collins’ stats - he’s more effective there than as a PF). So, to answer your question, no I would not bring the same group back as I don’t think Nurk, Whiteside and Collins can co-exist without at least one of the three making big sacrifices.

    Mostly, yes.
I do think Portland still needs a major upgrade on the wing ( in addition to Ariza).

I had thought that and thought it was our biggest need in the draft, but, if Ariza stays and Hood is back, I start to feel the most important positional upgrade might be a defensive-minded guard to bring off the bench. Or someone that can initiate the offensive effectively. Preferably both. Someone maybe like a Tre Jones or Tyrese Haliburton.
