I have changed my mind about this season. I don't care what it takes. We need to do whatever it takes to get to the playoffs and have a chance to capitalize on this evolution of Dame. Dame is the greatest Blazer of tall time. I don't care what anyone says. The dude is doing something legendary. Something no other Blazer has ever done. We can't waste this.
Even if dame never gets us a championship I am forever grateful for him. Ive said it before and I'll say it again. Never again Will we have someone like Dame. Loyalty over everything.
Until recently, the only Blazer I've ever seen totally take over a game like Dame has lately was Walton. The guy could just control the game. Dame is in another world right now and I'm loving it. If he keeps playing like this and the Blazers make the playoffs and do well, dude could be in serious MVP contention. Love the guy - Love his play and love that, unlike Walton, he actually wants to be here.
This is such a complex topic in my opinion. To give up on this season, with Dame playing like this would be tough. On the other hand, to make a move that helps us lock in the 7th-8th and reduce the amount of talent around him the next couple years would be brutal. That leaves one option: make a trade that helps us now and in the future... sounds easy enough!
Essentially we would need a healthy Nurk back and a trade involving Whiteside that brings back another solid piece. I'm not sure who.
I'm totally against it, and it wouldn't be smart to go All in on a Lost season to get the 8th seed. 1. Why is Dame all of Sudden playing like the best player in the league? why didn't he play like that before when we needed him? Remember all those loses against the garbage Teams. 2. At some point he's gonna come back to earth, no way he can keep this unbelievable stretch for the rest of the Season, it's physicaly impossible, but in order to beat the Lakers in the 1st round, we need this version of Dame just to even have a Chance, because Lebron has been chilling for most part of the season and we all know, he takes his game to another level in the Playoffs. I'm not willing to sacrifice future assets just to have 4 or 5 more games this Season. Sorry Dame, that Stretch should have come earlier when the 7th or 6th seed weren't that far away
I think it's certainly possible that he's passed Andre Miller for greatest Blazers point guard of all-time.
Roy could take over a game as well at times as i still remember that game against Dallas. He was my all time favorite and then Lillard came along and took that spot for me. He's a very special player.
