a domain also costs money..com , .net, or .org domains usually cost around 6-9 dollars per year, which is pretty cheap so like tony said you just have to worry about hosting issues, ESPECIALLY if your site gets too big. thats why you dont want people spamming all over the place with big pictures and stuff, that could really take up your bandwith as well.but hosting come at different prices depending on how good they are.
