Re: Telfair's Reality Check http://celtics.bostonherald.com/celtics/vi...ticleid=1009703Interesting read. Telfair is working out with summer league team and staying by himself in Las Vegas this summer doing a conditioning program. He says he wants to be alone from the east coast for a long time and his only visitors are his family members. My criticisms of Telfair have been well noted, but there is one thing I have never criticized is the fact that I truly think he's a good kid deep down inside. This is a really good interview and he explains that entire fiasco back in April, not shying away from one detail of it. He really sounds like he wants to get on the right track and is quoted saying that Danny Ainge has been in his corner all along so despite his name plate being ripped off in the locker room, he is still a Boston Celtic. And hopefully we can still have that bigggggg telfair night at the gah-en.
Re: Telfair's Reality Check My question is why is a guy from NY, who played two seasons in OR, currently working in MA, have or for that matter even get a FL driver's license?
Re: Telfair's Reality Check To prevent the exact problem that happened. He had tickets on his NY license. There was a big mistake made and I think he's gonna stay. Give hima 2nd chance.
Re: Telfair's Reality Check I think he is actually pefect to run the second unit off the bench. Would like to see him get more consistant minutes so he knows his role.
Re: Telfair's Reality Check Bulpett said that Telfair has bigger arms and a slimmer waste. Looks to be true: Bassy is saying all the right words, has supposedly been working hard in Vegas, and claims to have matured. I will certainly give him the benefit of the doubt, unless he screws up again or does not improve. He's still 21 years old, by the way. That's something I think I lot of people fail to factor in. They give Green the benefit of the doubt when he messes up or gets burnt on defense, or any other young player on this team, yet they won't to Bassy. I understand Bassy obviously hasn't lived up to expectations, but I still believe that he's better than people give him credit for and still has a chance to be a good player in this league. All he needs is the right mindset, which he claims to have now, and confidence. I'm interested to see him play, I am REALLY hoping he plays in summer league.
Re: Telfair's Reality Check Today I watched Through The Fire again, and this guy has talent, hes an excellent playmaker and hes got a work ethic...its just a matter of triggering it. I think hes still going to be good, hes only 21 and people still dont give any hope for him....yet like CB32 said, they give all these other players the benefit of the doubt but not to Bassy. IMO, I still think hes going to be a pretty good player atleast....it wouldnt surprise me to see him have a breakout season as soon as this up-coming season with him most likely getting more PT behind Rondo. Hes very talented and is a true playmaker, its a matter of hard work, some good coaching and some time to get his head straight...which is what it sounds like hes doing.
Re: Telfair's Reality Check People wouldn't be giving him such a hard time if Rondo wasn't so good last year. Because we all wanted Bassy to play at Rondo's level, when in his 3rd year out of high school we were setting the bar too high for him. It was all the hype outta high school that killed him. You don't see many other HS players get ripped up like he does by the media and on message boards.

The funny thing is that most people that make Telfair jokes now are the same people that were caught up in the hype 8 months ago, and are afraid to admit it. Those people also act like they have forgotten how solid Bassy played to start the season. He will be fine. I certainly want a veteran point guard, but I hope Bassy gets a fair chance next year, wherever he ends up. I still don't believe that he will be in Boston, regardless of what reports are saying right now. While I do believe in him, and while I do think that Danny has legitimate faith in him, I think everything we're hearing lately is nothing short of a ploy for the organization to try and build his value up a little bit.
Re: Telfair's Reality Check I really don't think Telfair is the right fit for this team. He doesn't bring what we need in a PG off the bench, DEFENSE. He has average to below average offense. And he brings mediocre to zero defense. You can't get by without playing good D unless your offense is above average or better. We shouldn't cut him though. His contract is expiring so we should throw him into any deal for a "big name" player with Ratliff to up that expiring deal to 13-14 mill.

Re: Telfair's Reality Check Im hoping Telfair has a good year, I am really pulling for this guy and I see alot more promise in him then Rondo.
