<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Although he didn't rescind his trade request, Kobe Bryant softened his stance somewhat Thursday night, saying he had apologized to Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak in person for the way he handled his upset feelings five weeks ago. "I just felt like as a man, it was important for me to tell him, `I'm sorry it came out that way,"' Bryant said at a lightly attended news conference at Loyola Marymount, where he spoke mainly about his camp for youngsters at the school this week. Bryant said that while he could have called Kupchak, it was important he speak with him face-to-face. "I was frustrated, I was venting," Bryant said. When asked whether he still wanted out, Bryant replied: "I haven't thought about that in a long, long time. I've kind of stepped away from that. I've concentrated on Team USA. What I say is what I say. We'll just have to see where it goes." </div>Yahoo! *YAWN*Seriously The Lakers are pissing me off- They needed to make a trade happen and yet they have managed to do F*ck allworse still they are trying to get too much for Odom and Bynum/Brown, If they don't make the deal sweeter then they need to start shopping Kobe - Even if he plays for them next year his team mates are going to be a little cut over all his remarks over the offseason, and the chemistry will be WAY WAY WAY down.Kobe shut up, and Lakers Make SOMETHING....ANYTHING HAPPEN!

I am glad Kobe apologized to Mitch, Kobe definitely handled it the wrong way. Kobe needs to stop venting through the media and get a therapist.
If there is anyone he needs to apologize (I don't think he has to) it is the fans who he hurt. Mitch should aplogize to him for surrounding him with trash.
I dont and never have taken anything bryant says seriously. Take his words as you would a grain of salt lakers fans. Considering you got him for vlade divac just appreciate that much. Whether he stays or leaves you guys got very lucky.

I mean, this is to me, and always will be, home." Sounds like Kobe is saying goodbye
Under all that bullsh** he was slinging, Kobe's intentions really are good ones, he just didn't handle that situation the right way. Maybe Fish coming back can at least calm him for an hour.
