<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>July 6, 2007 - 12:50 pm Washington Post - League and Wizards sources confirmed that the team offered unrestricted free agent shooting guard DeShawn Stevenson a four-year deal worth approximately $12 million. Stevenson, who turned down a three-year, $10 million offer from the Orlando Magic last summer, earned just less than $1 million last season.</div>I don't mind signing him for four years 12$ mil but if he turns this down, just let him go. Wizards now have Juan Carlos Navarro and Nick Young to fill up the SG position. That is a dynamic scoring duo and will actually speed up the Wizards pace. DeShawn would be another nice addition but it is not a neccesity anymore to fill up the SG position.

The Magic actually want this guy back? If the Wizards really think they could use this guy, 3-4 Mil a year doesn't seem that bad to keep him, but it's not like he's the best guy to teach Nick Young some things...

I don't think Orlando will want him back after that.

Co-sign with GArenas. If the guy turns it down, just let him go. He won't get a better offer than that from any other team. We don't need him that much and his statistics playing with the Big Three fool everyone, when in reality he is a player who can't create offense for himself, erratic jumpshot, and below-average ball-handling skills for a SG.

Compared to other swingmen so far this offseason, that deal is a lowball imo.

Navarro and Young are more than enough to carry the load at the 2. Not to mention you often see Caron at the 2 around the second quarter. His playing time will decrease substantially in this upcoming season so that 12 mil could have been used elsewhere. Again I don't really mind the offer but it creates a situation where Navarro or Stevenson will be traded after the offer is accepted.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>July 8, 2007 - 8:38 amWashington Post -The Wizards have increased their offer to unrestricted free agent shooting guard DeShawn Stevenson to four years with a total salary of around $15 million, but Stevenson has not accepted that offer, according to team and league sources.Wednesday is the first day free agents can formally sign contracts, and a source close to Stevenson said the team and player are "moving closer" to an agreement.</div>http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/469...r_to_stevenson/Offer was increased again, if DeShawn doesn't accept this contract then the Wizards have to let him walk. I think giving DeShawn 15 million basically means that Juan Carlos Navarro will be traded rather than be signed. We don't have enough cap to offer Navarro the 9$ million dollar contract that he requested. He will likely be involved in a package with Etan or Brendan.
