Half of the so called "critics and analysts" of basketball dont know what they're talking about half of the time. I got on NBA.com and I read a headline "China Defeats Memphis in Vegas".....I dont know if the writer of the article wrote the headline, but if he did this just proves we got people writing about games they didnt even see. On grizzlies.com, posters are saying that local radio analysts came out and said "Memhis was just beaten bad by the Chinese team" and they were slamming the Griz...but 20 minutes later they come back and say "we are sorry, but it seems Memphis actually won". This is sickening. It isnt even about Memphis...its about the fact these people are writing articles and broadcasting stuff about games and they havent even watched it. The way I see it, if you didnt watch it, dont write about it...Now NBA.com has changed it to be right though...
Last year in the Washington Post, the Washington Wizards beat the Milwaukee Bucks yet the score was messed up and the Post believed the Bucks had absolutely destroyed the Wizards. Although this could have been a simple typo, there were many mistakes through the entire article. I can't remember who wrote it or which Wizards - Bucks game it was though.
Whats even worse now though, is I woke up to all the news stations(except Fox 13...I love Fox 13)are still reporting we lost...they can read an nba.com article or something...seems they just look at stats...

Why is there even a Chinese team in the summer league?</div>Because Stern has a hardon for creating an international fanbase.I don't entirely see the big deal, BCB2. There are more important things going on this weekend than the summer league... Wimbledon, golf, AFL playoffs, MLB All-Star Game coming up.Edit: What I'm trying to say is that your average sportscaster has no reason to see or care about the summer league. It's actually pretty surprising that they report it at all.
In Memphis....its sortve of a big deal cause Tillery and a couple radio broadcatsrers basicly ONLY talk about Memphis teams(Riverkings-not playing, Tigers-Not playing, Redbirds-meh...)the Grizzlies are being talked alot especially with the free agency thing going on and new coach and GM. Its just messed up that even this morning news stations were still reporting Memphis was badly beaten by China.
To be honest very few people give a sh*t about the summer league - only mad mad hardcore fans such as some of us here at bball world...the casual nba fan doesn't give a F*ck bout the summer league..
If they dont care so much...then dont report anything. If your going to report something, and smack talk it, know what your talking about....And I dont understand why people dont like it more...you get to see your young players(who are usually atheltic and fun to watch)get the PT and take the court...its very entertaining IMO.

I'm with you, I love watching summer league (I have watched every game thus far), but I can understand why some people don't care for it.

So you see Durant have a highlight reel dunk, so what? Lets seem him do it in the regular season. I only watch a couple Knicks summer league games or if I got a friend on one of the rosters.
Just cause they're pointless doesn't mean they arent entertaining. The Memphis/China game was very exciting to watch and you missed out if you didnt see it.Ive watched it like 3 times though, I recorded it on my DVR...

..once again, it wasnt ESPN or anything or said it, but local sports analysts on the radio who talked extensivley about it...
