Steve Nash, I believe, is 2nd for Best Shooter. As stated before, many people underrate his ability because he does not take the 3 as much as other people. I feel it is unarguable that Ray Allen is still the best shooter in the game

Led the league in 3PT Field Goal % and shot nearly 50% from the field as well.</div>Problem with Kapono is he can't create for an open shot. He needs a teammate to force a double team then dish it out to him for an open three. Most of these other guys create their own space for a jumper.BTW you put Nash twice Cambyland.
What are you guys defining as a "shooter" for the purpose of this discussion? In the absence of a contrived criteria, you'd have to say that a guy that makes his shots more of the time is the better shooter. Being a good shooter is not just about who could win a game of horse. It's about getting shots off, knowing when to shoot and when NOT to shoot. That said, I find it baffling that a guy like Ben Gordon is being listed on here, and agreed to by many, as a candidate for best shooter. The guy has a 43% career FG%. That number doesn't put you as "best." He was better last year, but still not good enough. Redd is a better choice than Ray Allen, as well. Allen shot .438 last year himself. Not good enough to be "best."A good shooter makes shots. I'm no Steve Nash fan at all, but by that criteria he has to be above these other guys, and just about all other perimeter players. The guy has been over 50% the last 3 years, .532 last year, and .455 from 3. Gordon was the closest to him on 3 pointers at .413. Redd and Allen were at .383 and .372, respectively. Those are large gaps.I think results are more important than opinions about who is better during a nebulously defined period of time when the candidate is on a hot streak. If you want to disregard results you have to base your vote on what a guy's shot looks like, or some imaginary ideas about who would make more shots unguarded in an empty gym.
First off, just because someone can't create off the dribble well to get open three point shots, does not mean that they are not good three point shooters. Kapono does a good job of off ball movement to get open for three point shots, and has a decent pump fake to get someone up in the air off of a catch. He is one of the better three point shooters in the league. Next off, for the people saying that Nash doesn't shoot that many three's, that is a little off. He took well over 300 three point shots this year. That's a good amount of three pointers, and considering he made 45% of the three's he took, he made 150 three pointers. So he definately takes a good deal of three point shots, his passing ability, and ability to run an offense is publicised more than his three point shooting is. As for best shooters in the league, I think Nash and Allen are fairly even on who has the better three point shot of the two. If I had to make a top 5 shooters in the league, it would go something like this with only 1a) Nash1b) AllenAnd then in no particular order for three point shooting2) Michael Redd3) Mike Miller4) Dirk Nowitzki/ Raja Bell
<span style="font-family:Arial">I have to go with Steve Nash on this one. His jump shot is money from every spot on the basketball court. He can hit the three, as well as shoot the mid range with consistency.</span><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>James JonesRaja BellJason KaponoKirk Hinrich (underrated shooter)Charlie Bell</div><span style="font-family:Arial">Are you basing this list off of a video game?</span>

Well I just don't think someone who shoots the 3 well for two months, but then sucks it up for five months, is a very good shooter. He's the streakiest shooter in the league, in a bad way. He's not mentally tough and loses his confidence so easily. He complains about the new ball, but in the 2nd half of the season shoots worse than the first half after a good month. Looking at his career stats he's only really been good for 2 months every year, about 25 out of 82 games.

I remember watching a montage of him missing all these game winners on ESPN.</div>Michael Jordan also missed more game-winning shots in his entire career then anyone else. I guess he's not clutch either?Ben Gordon since he has come to the bulls has won at least 50 games for us just based on his clutchness, he is one of the clutchest players in the game today. Since his rookie season he has been known for his great 4th quarters.

I very much doubt that over a third of their wins are due to Ben Gordon, and not just him, but just by him being a late clutch shooter. Sounds like quite a reach.Missing many game winners is due to attempting many game winners. If you are always the one shooting the ball, you'll lead in missed and made game winners. Only the ratio matters.

Gordon chokes when it comes to crunch time, I don't understand why you believe that he is extremely clutch. I've seen him not be able to get a shot off at the end of the fourth quarter and deep in OT's.I'm not saying that Gordon is completely useless in the clutch but he's far from Jerry West.
There are a couple guys that come to mind when I think of real good shooters (assuming we are talking 3 pt shooters?)Redd, Jamal Crawford, Quentin Richardson, Ray Allen, Kyle Korver, Dirk, Nash
hinrich cant shoot for sh*teverytime I watch a bulls game he always pulls up for 3 and never gets any in.. idk why people consider him a good 3 pointshooterand nowitzki chokes, I dont think hes that consistentso my vote goes to ray allen
